Beautiful location on the north part of the island

This was a great stay for our family. The listing is definitely from a long time ago, and it’s not quite as fresh and new as the pictures show, but it’s still pretty great with easy access to beautiful beaches, and the management seemed very helpful. There are a couple of resident geckos, which we thoroughly enjoyed having there. My only complaint was the key to the sliding door. You just really have to come at it with calmness and not turn it too hard.

Mahalo Kelli for your five-star review and comments. We are glad that you enjoyed your time at the Tropical Bamboo Hideaway. Mahalo for sharing your feedback on the sliding door lock. We will definitely have a look and get it repaired. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Aloha and a hui hou.

Hawaii bamboo hideaway

The house is in an amazing area on the island. For the price I was surprised to find the chair in the main living area was so worn there was actually holes in the fabric. And very disappointed that the cushions on the lanai furniture were so dirty that we had to remove the cushions to use the furniture outside. The house was very clean and we enjoyed the coffee and tea. Also happy to have paper towels and toilet paper provided along with shampoo, conditioner and lotion. We loved staying on the north shore.

Mahalo for your review.  I wanted to let you know the home has sold and is now under new management.  We are completely overhauling the home and adding many new amenities you will certainly enjoy.  We look forward to hosting you on Kauai’s North Shore soon.  Aloha, The Parrish Kauai Ohana.

North Shore Paradise

Absolutely beautiful home and setting. Equipped with everything you might need. There\'s a reason this rental receives the highest praise. I\'ll add a few particulars that might be helpful. Open all the screen doors and windows when you arrive. The house is raised high above the tree line and will catch the refreshing trade winds all day and night. There is a very good restaurant/bar right across the street -- highly recommend it. Also across the street, just past the Hanalei Colony Resort, walk along Alealea Road to Camp Naue beach access trail and you will be at the Southern edge of Tunnels Beach in 20 minutes.

Perfection in the treetops

This property is incredibly unique as the entire home inside and out is made of bamboo. The wonderful lanai that surrounds the home looks out amongst the treetops and both the lanai and the many sliding glass doors allow for the breeze to enter the home. We appreciated the comfortable beds, the easy walk to Kepuhi Point for rainbows, ocean breezes and amazing sunsets. As the far north of Kauai is my favorite spot on all the islands it was wonderful having easy access to Haena State Park, Ke\'e Beach (need a permit to enter) and of course: Tunnels Beach! The ride to Hanalei Bay was easy and we took advantage of the quiet time during road closures to soak up the town of Hanalei like a local. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with us.

Aloha, We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Mahalo for sharing your kind words and taking such good care of the Tropical Bamboo Hideaway. Please let us know when you are ready to return, it would be our pleasure to host you. With warm aloha, The Kauai Island Vacations Ohana

Amazing House

This house is incredible. It is in a secluded part of the island, and the greenery around the house separate it from any neighbors. The furnishings in the house were all so nice. We felt so comfortable and had everything we needed for our week-long stay (except laundry detergent, which we purchased). The house has no A/C, but that was pretty much a non-issue because every room has screen doors and windows almost literally wall-to-wall. The house also had plenty of equipment for snorkeling and boogey-boarding. And there is even an elevator, which is super convenient for bringing luggage up and downstairs! The house is a very short drive (or somewhat long walk) from Tunnels Beach, which was gorgeous and fun for snorkeling and sunbathing. The house is also a short drive from the town of Hanalei, which in our experience (and research) is the best town on the island. The town also has Hanalei Bay Beach, which was another great beach. We did have some miscommunication issues that made check-in a little confusing. An outdated email was sent by VRBO that listed a property management company (the Parrish Collection) that no longer runs the tropical bamboo house. And the email that came from the correct property management company (Kauai Island Vacations) went to my spam folder. Thankfully, when I reached out to the owner of the house on the day of check-in, he got me straightened out with the correct contacts. Despite this confusion, we enjoyed staying at this property so much that it easily deserves 5 stars. We hope to return to this house the next time we come to Kauai.

Bamboo house review

We enjoyed the bamboo house! It was nice, fun decor, clean and close to the end of the road where we wanted to be. It had everything we needed except we had to buy some stuff like dishwasher detergent for the house. When I had to call the office everyone was very nice and helpful. Only bummer was there's very noisy construction going on all day at the home right across the street, view from the front porch, so we couldn't enjoy morning coffee on the porch, after that we were gone most of the day until the construction was over at night. There was a little confusion and a lot of back and forth communication about how to get them their paperwork, and how to get in to the home (an outdated message was sent to me from vrbo apparently), and there was a required additional insurance payment that I didn't expect but we got all the logistics worked out.

Bamboo Treehouse

We stayed here for 8 nights while we got married and spent our honeymoon in Kauai. It was perfect! We loved the location - able to walk to Tunnels Beach, conveniently close to Hanalei town but far enough away to be quiet and secluded. The porch wraps around entirely and you have a view of the ocean across the street while sitting on the porch drinking wine. The kitchen was fully stocked with any cooking tools we needed, we felt like we were in our own home the entire trip. As long as this house is available, we will be staying here every time we return!

We greatly enjoyed our stay, 21 nights, beautiful location and walked to Tunnels and Ke’e Beach almost daily. Saw ever sunrise and sunset. Rained only one day, unusual weather for January, and was thankful. Location is Private, quiet, and neighbors very respectful. 8 th trip to Kaua’i in 31 years, this was by far the best location for hiking and walking the beaches without having to drive or very little. We had the blessings of seeing a lot of wildlife keeping our distance of course. During our hikes on NaPali we Sometimes would see 2 whales breach at a time and Saw monk seals sleeping everyday- always being mindful of keeping our distance not to disturb them. In 3 weeks we only used 5/8 th of a tank of gas, that’s how much we enjoyed walking and hiking locally in Ha’ena. We only traveled to Hanalei for groceries and are not much for eating out. But if we did eat out Tahiti Nui has excellent Ahi Bowls. House is like home, everything you need. Thank you Joanne Hanna, you were great to work with from the management company and the cleaning company and lawn company did an outstanding job in their mid stay care for the home. Mahalo! Amazing place in Haena

Lovely Tropical Bamboo Hideaway won\'t disappoint anyone staying there. Very comfy and well decorated with 2 great bedrooms and baths, a well-equipped kitchen and a view of the ocean...While it was quite warm, the cross breezes and fans kept us cool and happy. There's a great coffeeshop across the street (in Hanalei Colony Resort) offering macademia nut milk, too. Love this neighborhood, and its proximity to Tunnels Beach. This beautiful property is a five star!

Paradise found!

Not sure where to begin... this property was absolutely gorgeous! The photos really don't do it justice: it's bigger and more spacious than it looks and epitomizes the feel of island living. It's located in Ha’ena, a very quiet part of the island, surrounded on all sides by palm trees and other local flora, well away from the hordes of tourists, and it's perfectly situated for those that like to walk on the beach at sunset and do the same at sunrise. It's literally about 1.5 blocks away from the beach at Kepuhi Point (and the Napali Art Gallery & Coffee House: the vanilla latte was very tasty and they have some great pieces by local artists) and .9 miles from the best sunset in Kauai: Makua (Tunnels) Beach. For the more adventurous, it’s also about 1.5 miles from the infamous Kalalau Trail.

The house was well-appointed and stocked with all the necessary cookware to accommodate my brother's family when they visited for dinner. We stayed there in July, and though the house doesn't have A/C, there are sliding doors on every corner of the house and we never once felt overheated. There were several portable fans available if we needed to provide any additional air movement, but generally the natural breezes kept us quite comfortable. There was also a selection of books about the island which proved quite useful in our quest for the best hikes and snorkeling.

Speaking of which, it turned out that some of the best snorkeling in Kauai is located within a mile of the house, so you won't have to drive far (or at all) to see a cornucopia of fish, sea turtles and an occasional monk seal. You’re also only a few miles from Hanalei Bay if you’re looking for additional water sports such as kayaking or SUP, or just dining out.

I would also like to thank the owner and the management company who were very helpful in answering questions about the house and the island in general. Don even drew a map for us on where to find sea turtles, which we used that very afternoon and actually saw one about 10 yards from where he notated on the map (hint: about 70 yards offshore on the backside of the inner reef, midway between the point of Tunnels Beach and the lifeguard station at Ha’ena Beach Park).

All in all, we had an absolutely fantastic and memorable time on our vacation. The bamboo treehouse has made an indelible impression on us and set a bar that would be very difficult to beat. We will definitely be coming back! Thanks!

Best stay in the loveliest part of Kauai

We loved our experience SO much! This is our favorite part of the island and we always try to stay in the area. Hanalei is amazing but our drive to, and time spent, in Haena is just as magical. The house was perfect in every way. It was so well stocked and clearly loved. We swam with turtles at tunnels and walked to a different beach every night for beautiful sunsets. We were pleased to find that the restaurant across the street, Opakapaka, was open even though the Colony Resort has yet to reopen. Great food and amazing staff. This house and neighborhood is a seriously special place. Can’t wait to go back!

Lovely unique home with accomodating owner and mgmt company

Our family visited for Thanksgiving -- we knew and appreciated the location for it's tranquility and proximity to beaches albeit we found the spectacular Hanalei beach best for our 7 year old granddaughter owing to it's modest waves versus nearby beaches which though spectacular were typical Fall/Winter bigger waves -- the home is larger than it looks and the wraparound porch is inviting. Easy to recommended.

Peaceful Holiday

My husband and I just loved staying at the Tropical Bamboo Hideaway! It was quiet and peaceful - exactly what we needed. This house is simply a work of art! We spent a lot of time sitting on the wraparound porch drinking our coffee and just spending time together. Thank you so much! I love this location. It is very close to Tunnels beach, which is our favorite beach on Kauai for snorkeling. Here are a couple of things to note. The kitchen is awesome, but the nearest grocery store is in Hanalei about 20 minutes away. So I suggest stopping for groceries on your way out to the house. There are many great restaurants in Hanalei, but only one near the house. It's across the street. Also, the house is not right on beach, so if that is important to you, you might want to book elsewhere. You CAN access the beach easily by walking across the street and through the condo area. Finally, as you can see from the pictures, the house is elevated, so take this into consideration if you have young children for safety reasons. We loved, loved, loved staying here and would like to return some day with our family!

Super nice environment: house, grounds, location.

The house, because of all the bamboo, has a really nice architectural coherence. The wrap-around deck is great, gave our daughter the option of not having to pass under the spider's web, and the elevator was super handy for luggage and groceries on that first day. Linens, kitchen supplies, everything was really nice. And when we arrived, the place was spotless. Also Mr. Chocolate Paws, the neighborhood Siamese cat, was a fun visitor, meowing every morning outside our bedroom, and greeting us when we got home. Much aloha going on at the Bamboo Hideaway.

Paradise Found

Staying in the Bamboo Hideaway was ideal for us, for the house and location. What a unique home: the bamboo everywhere, the 360 degree lanai, the vista, the up-to-date appliances, the location not far from Hanalei and near the Kalalau Trail and Na Pali Coast, and on and on. Lots of comfort in this home, as well as charm. No AC, but didn't need it even in July with ceiling and floor fans in the house. Clean, safe, just off the road, we would definitely return...and Kauai is a fantastic island to experience the beauty and culture of Hawaii. When arriving, don't be put off by the daunting height of the staircase with getting bags to the living quarters...there's also a bamboo elevator that is a must to use upon arrival and departure. A great spot in a great place on this earth!

Special & Unique Place!

probably the most original vacation home we've ever stayed in or likely will. it's super charming in all aspects. viewing the intricate detail within the beams and structure trying to figure out how the home was constructed is pretty cool. beyond great tropical area, right across street from beach and down the street from tunnels. was clean and very well maintained, with all the essential hardware items you need for an extended stay to cook etc. also the property managment company parrish collection was super helpful. on our last day when the neighborhood power went out for a little bit along the street they ran us over some flashlights just in case we had to pack in the dark! now that\'s service! (luckily electric company got it back up before dusk). two last things worth mentioning: if you love sleep as much as i do; the beds are plush and Super comfortable. also, if you want to see the most picturesque sunset of your life look in the guest guidebook on the coffee table, it tells you exactly where to go see the turtles at the beach down the street...once you walk along the beach just around that "turtle viewing" point you'll now see the start of the napali coast mountains and the sun setting into the ocean next to them.

This is our second time renting on the north coast in Kauai. Our original rental was not available so we rented this as it looked lovely. Now we prefer this house ! The wrap around lanai is so wonderful. From any room you can step out and be part of nature that surrounds this home. This trip is just my husband and myself, having the extra room was luxurious...the home is fully stocked, we wanted for nothing. Hawaiian Paradise

The Bamboo Hideaway is an amazing house with an abundance of aloha. Everything you want in a vacation rental and more. It’s artistic, roomy, comfortable, private, and has a huge lanai. Cooking was easy in the well-equipped modern kitchen and outdoor gas BBQ. For dinner we’d either pick up fish to grill at the Hanalei Dolphin Fish Market (along with a few of their impossible to resist fresh sushi rolls) or eat at one of the many Hanalei restaurants. There is also a great Mediterranean restaurant just across the street from the house that we frequented during our stay.

For us the location was perfect. It’s only a 2-minute walk to some of the best espresso drinks on the island and in a few more steps you are on a vast beach that is never crowded. Most mornings as we walked along the ocean on our way to Tunnels Beach we were met by a pack of giant sea turtles swimming just a few feet from the shore. You could almost touch them.

Hanalei is just a short drive away with lots of interesting shops, grocery stores and a local farmers market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. We never felt the need to leave the North Shore during our stay. We will definitely be back.

I would call this place Tropical Bamboo Paradise!

The pictures do not do justice to the charm of this site. The unique bamboo structure adds to the whole island experience. The owners have thoughtfully provided everything needed for a sun and surf vacation. Easily accessible and yet a feeling of treehouse privacy. Spotlessly clean with new top of the line appliances. The elevator was especially appreciated for moving luggage and groceries to house level. A very comfortable facility in every room of the house. Loved all the seaside decor. Definitely will be back and recommend this property to friends and family.

Idyllic, beautifully decorated bamboo hideaway

It is clear that a lot of thought went into designing and decorating this lovely house, which is perfectly situated for a relaxing retreat. The house is about as close as you can get to the Napali coast and excellent beaches, and not too far from very complete shopping at Princeville (as well as Sunshine Helicopters that gave us a wonderful tour of the island). We cooked meals actively while there and found the kitchen very usable, but were also delighted by the very homey and personal luau available across the street at the Mediterranean Gourmet (excellent food). Though we had most of what we needed with us, it seemed everything we might have wanted for beach or picnic was provided for our use. The excellent, and quiet washer and dryer made washing clothes very convenient. By the time we left it felt like home.

House is awesome, property not so much.

The house itself is very nice and well equipped. Immaculately clean. The surrounding neighbors are filthy, various rusty cars and equipment are strewn about the adjacent properties. Tiny ocean view and the "garden" views are pretty much a line of avocado trees that slightly veil yet another shabby neighbor. Great restaurant across the street but other than that you have to drive at least 10 minutes to get ANY supplies. Cool beaches across the street as well. In the winter time most of them are unswimable. Expect to pay at least 10-20% more for equipment rental on the north shore. We're having a good time but through tricky photography on the website the house seems twice the size it actually is. The outrigger canoe is only about 6 feet long is by no means a scale representation of the size of the house. The bedroom doors are about 3ft from one another making two couple romance all but impossible. The Parrish collection called several times to get my car rental info and them failed to leave the keys, we had to pick them up on our way, they refused to deliver them to our hotel. We won't be staying again.

The North shore of Kauai is known for its natural beauty, great surf, rustic local charm, away-from-it-all location and neighborhood feel.

There is no trick photography used on the web site and the professional photographs have been recently updated. We encourage guests to go to the Google map listed under Links and Videos and explore the neighborhood to see the proximity to the neighbors, town and beaches. Note that the Google images where the row of lava rocks are were taken before we added quite a bit of landscaping, which can be seen in our current photographs.

We have several neighbors, two of which share our easement driveway off of the main road. Their cars get parked at their houses on the opposite side of the main drive. One of the homes is in the final stages of completion, so there are building materials temporarily stored under the house, which will be removed in the near future. From the lanai, 20 feet in the air, you can see several other homes. Our neighbors are nice, friendly people and we have a great relationship with them.

The listing states that there are partial ocean views, which can be seen in the photographs. The perimeter of the yard is full of trees. A line of trees taller than the house runs behind and around one side of the property to the road. On the other edge of the yard is a stretch of palm trees and a hedge that lines much of the shared driveway except for the opening to get into our private area. As mentioned in the description, the home is 1,400 square feet. The outrigger canoe is a decoration and not meant for scale. The listing also indicates that the closest town is Hanalei, 10 minutes away, which has two grocery stores, great restaurants and quaint shops.

In the years we have used The Parrish Collection, we have never received anything but wonderful comments about their service and helpfulness during visitor's stays. Most guests go out of their way to let us know directly how supportive The Parrish Collection was during their time on the island.

Amazing house!

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and had an awesome time. The house was perfect for a secluded getaway, yet still close enough for a quick car ride to get groceries or go out to dinner, or you can walk across the street for great food and even a luau every Tuesday night (must see, great food..... Did I mention walk). Besides the proximity of some of the best sights on the island, the house itself actually makes it hard to leave. On a rainy day it is just nice to sit in the living room for a movie marathon with a great view of palm trees and the ocean outside. Best of both worlds. It's also nice to get some great fruits and veggies from the farmers market and just cook a romantic dinner for two. The kitchen is FULLY stocked with pots pans utensils. Dining out every night can get pricey on the island. The decor of the house is incredible, with huge attention to the smallest details. Short walk to secluded section of beach as well and the house has beach toys, umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards etc. to use. A definate must see home If your thinking about traveling to kauai. This house beats any hotel I've ever stayed in!

We did not want to leave....

This review is will be short and to the point. My wife and I chose this house due to it\'s location and seclusion from the tourist side of the island. We were able to do everything that tourists get to do (fire breathing luau, lounge on the beach, helicopter ride) and go back to the hideaway for absolute peace and quiet. You really cannot put a price on the peace and quiet. We lost all interest in our electronics and social media and had laughter filled conversations. We were able to reconnect after the stress of the wedding and really remember why we fell in love and got married in the first place. It was the most wonderful time of or lives.

I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to live the hawaii lifestyle without the hassle of Hotel living. This house was clean, orderly, and without flaw.

My amazing honeymoon!

The tropical bamboo hideaway made my honeymoon more than I could of asked for!!

Everything was at our fingertips! A walk across the street got you to a great place to eat or a nice place to lay in the sand with your toes in the warm water. Everything was so close while feeling we were the only ones on the island. The binder the owners leave is FULL of anything and everything to do. We went on a helicopter ride, went paddle boarding, surfing, zip lining, snorkeling, all the way to a relaxing glass of wine on the beach while watching the sunset. And the house, oh the house! AMAZING!! Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, wrap around deck, kitchen full of anything and everything you may need, an outdoor grill, elevator, and even the decor is done just so perfectly!!

The tropical bamboo hideaway made our honeymoon more than I could of ever dreamed! It made some amazing memories for us already and many more anniversary memories to come.

Thank you for everything! It truly meant to world to us staying at a place the felt so warm, cozy, and safe! Thank you!

Wonderful Home !!

We just returned from a memorable week spent in this fabulous home. The location is excellent very quiet and peaceful and just a short stroll from the beach .

It was a two minute drive from tunnels beach where we spent our days hiking picnicking , snorkeling with the turtles and absorbing the beautiful views. The experience was made so easy because all of the beach equipment is supplied with the house...a quite an amazing array of gear from beach umbrellas to flippers/ snorkels beach chairs name it!

The house is wonderful and just as we'll equipped. we look forward to returning.

The agency that runs this house 'The Parish collection ' are as good as it gets. Many thanks

Robert and Ann

Tropical Bamboo Hideaway is Paradise!!!!

What a beautiful home. It was exactly as promised in the listing and even the great website couldn’t do it justice. The views were awesome, the multiple sliding doors and windows made the inside feel like outside. All the amenities were perfect, I didn't know there were so many movies made in Kauai, and the little things like soft sheets, fluffy towels, paper goods, zip lock bags for snacks and even a couple of AA batteries for my camera (saved a trip into town thanks:)). The decor looked like it was out of a designer magazine, and the elevator made the move in and out much easier. The beach across the street was a really nice spot, yet we were minutes to the end of the road beach and saw some of the most beautiful sunsets. The Luau on Tuesday at the Mediterranean Gourmet was really a delight, and seemed to be very authentic (not like the tourist magazine version we went to on Maui). Any of the restaurants in Hanalei would be a good choice, but the Sushi at the Dolphin was to die for. I guess as you can tell by my review, I would strongly recommend this tropical oasis.

An Experience We'll Never Forget

Our stay at the Bamboo House was amazing...a one of a kind experience! Whether sitting up in the trees with the sun shining and breeze blowing or cuddled inside with the rain falling and the geckos chirping, we loved every minute. There are lots of great hiking trails and beaches all nearby...and great restaurants just a short drive a way. After a long day of hiking or swimming, it was so great to come back to the bamboo house and be welcomed by the luxuries of home...upscale bedding and linens, fabulous spa products, all new kitchen appliances...and even an amazing movie library...all really nice touches. We'll definitely be back soon!

Paradise in the tree-tops

The Tropical Bamboo Hideaway served as a heavenly reunion site for my Swiss friend of forty-four years and me. In 1976, we were trip co-leaders with the Experiment in Int'l. Living. In the years that followed, we built a friendship that has kept us connected. The first adventure that we planned was a trip to the Hawaiian Islands in the summer of 1979, when we both had a teachers' break. Neither of us had ever been there, so we decided to camp for one week on each of the four main islands. We had such wonderful memories of our adventures during that month long ago that we decided that a reunion in Hawaii was long overdue! Now that we fall into the category of "senior citizens", we graduated from camping to the lap of luxury at the TBH! From the first moment when we set foot inside the home, high above the ground, we were awestruck over the bamboo construction and the ways in which the owners have tastefully-decorated each room, with artifacts included to connect one with Hawaii's lifestyle. I particularly enjoyed the wrap-around deck, along with all of the glass slider doors giving easy access to the out-of-doors, where I enjoyed a variety of new bird calls, as well as the breaking of the waves on the beach, both day and night. We continued to marvel at the complete supply of "creature comforts" that the owners had supplied for guests throughout their home, as well as the outdoor locker, provided with an abundance of sports and outdoor equipment for our use. In summary, I would return to TBH in a heartbeat. Its location at the remote North Shore of Kauai gave me the feeling of a peaceful, healing, stress-free setting, yet where one can get to conveniences when desired....a perfect combination in my mind!

The real hawaii house

We loved our house and did not want to go home! It is so beautiful. And had everything we needed. Because it is high on stilts and all bamboo it helps you to feel that you really are in Hawaii. Neighbors close , as they are all around the Island but very quiet, and the lush trees divided the view of some of them. very convenient idea to have packet waiting at car rental. But we did not have our key in it though and had to call but the problem was remedied quickly. i would recommend anyone who is a light sleeper who stays anywhere on the island to have earplugs as the roosters run wild and crow starting at 4 a.m. but my husband slept right through it. The only thing that would make it better is if it was right on the beach but then it would be too costly to stay. We went thru the resort property across the street to go to the beach but in the winter the waves are very high and current strong so it is a short drive to the calmer beach for swimming , not even a mile, so you could walk. . But we could hear the waves which was perfect if you are not all about the beach and want to sit and watch the amazing waves and hear the power of them. The deck is amazing! it wraps the whole house. Fans in every room and large windows and sliding doors in every room to keep you comfy. Beach gear and towels provided. Loved that boogie boards goggles and fins were there. Even sand pails and shovels for children. you thought of everything. We had stayed in Maui in a fancy resort, but enjoyed this much better. Quieter when you want it. Or you could go out and find fun too. We love the smaller quieter island. Couldnt wait to get back to our bamboo house and relax each night. The fruit stands are quite expensive for the fruit being grown on the island. A resident told us to go to Costco and buy it cause it is grown locally there and instead of six dollars for a pineapple you can get two for that price and other fruit at Costco that is grown on the island. There is a Taco Bell, Burger king,

I loved my stay at the Bamboo house. It was in a great location. Just across the street from the beach. House was amazing. So comfortable. Guest bedroom was just like a princess room. Very nice vacation.

Sweet Spot!

Stayed here w/my toddler. We had a great long weekend! The loft is a perfect kid play area. The location is ideal, a short drive into town or an easy walk across the street for dinner if you don't feel like cooking, even though the kitchen has all the amenities. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful house on a beautiful island

This is a totally unique house in a really lush area on Kauia. Very peaceful setting! Ocean views from the porch, main living area, and second bedroom. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The house is really beautiful and so unique - the whole house is constructed from bamboo, but it has modern bathroom and kitchen amenities. We walked right across the street to the beach (accessed via the resort property), and also took short drives both north and south to many other nearby beaches - most of them were deserted! This is definitely the area of Kauia to visit if you want peace and quiet, but activities are close at hand too - next time we're definitely taking a helicopter tour :). We ate at many of the nicer restaurants when we were there (Mediterranean Grill, which you can walk to, and also Bar Acuda and Postcards in Hanalei), but there are plenty of low-key restaurants in Hanalei too. The kitchen is fully equipped if you wanted to cook.
