Poipu Crater Resort #13

The property is in a crater, so sounds from the busy Poipu area are not heard. The porch is elevated and surrounded by lots of trees. Combined, it makes for a very peaceful vacation, with walking access to beach areas. The condo is well stocked with lots of beach gear, and the AC works great! Highly recommended for families.

Loved the large lanai. Closer to things but also felt secluded with the trees all around. Plenty of beach chairs. Would stay again

We had a great time in Kauai. This was a great location and home base for all of our family\'s island adventures. It had all of the comforts of home. We enjoyed our daily coffee and breakfast on the lanai.

Thank you to the staff at the Poipu Crater. They were very accommodating and communicative. The house was very clean and we had all the essentials that we needed to make our stay comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here.

This place felt like staying in a jungle despite the fact that it is just a short walk to sprawling rental complexes. Having AC was a great option but I also loved sleeping with the screen windows open, falling asleep to sound of frogs and waking to the sound of birds. As a border, I was thrilled to be able watch so many sweet tree bird from the back deck. Community pool is very private, I often had it to myself. We’ll kept. Perfect location. I’d go back!

We were 3 adults family members staying in February 2024. We enjoyed the privacy provided by the vegetation surrounding the lanai (for breakfast) and also the easy access to Poipu Beach Park and to other nearby beaches. It was convenient that the condo had beach chairs and also reusable shopping bags we could take to the grocery store. We didn't cook dinner in the unit, so didn't test all the appliances, but the 'fridge and coffee maker worked fine. The unit was clean and the communication with the property manager was very good. We would definitely return.

This home was situated in a beautiful area. It was conveniently located.

Nice property, great location! We enjoyed walking to Poipu Beach each night to see the turtles. Good size for a couple or small family. Having AC throughout the house was such a plus on sticky days! Parrish staff was great - very responsive and easy to work with.

The property is in a great location and has a pleasant interior. Although, the unit was infested with various insects every single time we returned home. We would routinely kill 15-25 bugs a day which was quite a nightmare in the evening. I have stayed in many locations in the Hawaiian Islands and have never experienced something like this. My advice to management would be to get an exterminator ASAP.m as the number of large insects was completely unacceptable.

The location and property were perfect! Everything was clean and we loved that they had coolers, towels, beach chairs, and other supplies available. My daughter especially loved picking (and eating) the star fruit from the tree in the garden.

Easy as could be. Nice apartment. Our toddler enjoyed the stairs.

As we came late at night, it was very dark and we had a difficult time finding the house. Once we entered, the house was clean and exactly like the pictures you see on the listing. There was coffee powder , sugar and salt . That’s about it! So be prepared to buy your groceries on your way. Utensils had a little bit of a fishy taste, so you might have to rinse before use. The location is great , very close to an awesome fruit stand, walkable to the beach , close to Spout horn and some shopping . Overall it was a great and comfortable stay.

This property was perfectly lovely. We were close to everything we needed, including a charging station for our rental EV about a mile away in two directions. The beach is less than a mile away. The beds were comfortable. The AC was excellent when needed. The neighborhood is beautiful, clean, safe. The pool was beautiful and clean - we were the only ones using it most of the time! I have zero regrets choosing this property. They have pretty much anything you need in the kitchen and even some beach stuff to use. Highly recommend!

Nice, open condo that seems bigger than it is. Condo well furnished and supplied. The complex is ideally situated in Poipu - walkable to 3 beaches. There is also a nice walking trail near the complex. Would stay here again.

We are so happy we were able to stay at this wonderful place. The beds were so comfortable. The location was private yet conveniently located. The home was clean and included a washer and dryer. I especially loved the detailed information binder provided. We used it to discover great food and fun activities. I highly recommend staying here. I plan to be back.

My family and I stayed at this property the week leading up to Thanksgiving. My daughter got married in Waimea.

The condo was exactly as shown and described.

It was clean and perfect for a family of four or two couples. The master is upstairs, and the bedroom below has two single beds - each has its own bathroom. The kitchen was fully stocked, and pretty much every need we had was in a closet or drawer somewhere.

Also, each bedroom and the main living area had AC units so you can adjust your temperature to your liking. Hawaii weather is always amazing, but it's very humid. AC is very helpful at night.

What we liked best was the deck, which was partially hidden by palm and fruit trees. It was very quiet and peaceful. We never ate indoors.

In 5 minutes you can walk to the beach. In 15 minutes, you can drive to Koloa with its shops and restaurants and grocery stores.

And, the owners were very helpful and responsive contacted via email.

We've been to Kauai many times and have always stayed at a Poipu condo. This one was our favorite. We highly recommend it and would absolutely stay here in a future visit if available.

We had a really great time here. It's walkable to the beach, the kitchen is really well stocked, and the beds are comfortable!

This gorgeous townhome was perfect for us or a family. It was fully loaded to enjoy breakfast out on the lanai, pack a lunch for the beach, or cocktails. Having all your beach gear available including coolers chairs umbrellas and towels allowed us to enjoy all the various beaches for snorkeling. Thank you, We can’t wait for our next visit!

Beautiful grounds and pool in a sunken crater area with many trees flowers and fruits. Many of the buildings around complex are older and in need of some repair/renovation but our unit was clean convenient and had everything we needed.

We had a great time and all that we needed for a "home base" at this great unit in Poipu Crater! Traveled with my wife and two teenagers...layout of the unit accommodated us well, kids on the main floor with two twin beds, their own bathroom and the master suite upstairs with great vaulted ceilings and own bathroom. With days spent hiking and at the beach the washer and dryer came in handy and we spent most evenings recapping the day's adventures on the private lanai! We also enjoyed the tennis court, outdoor ping pong and pool! Would recommend this spot as a great home base for adventures on the South Shore.

The condo was fully stocked with just about everything we needed. Really appreciated the cooler, ice packs, beach chairs, etc. Erick was very responsive to questions. I would recommend leaving extra toilet paper under bathroom sinks so it is easy to find. The ability to do laundry was awesome and that there was laundry pods for us to use was so helpful.

It was our second stay at Poipu crater and we really enjoyed it. It is a beautiful and quiet place. The #13 unit was perfect, very clean, well stocked, and the AC was definitely a plus. Thank you very much!

We had such an amazing time in Kauai, and a big part of that is because of this villa. Erick was very responsive via email and gave thorough instructions regarding the villa. There is a folder on the coffee table inside the villa with local information that validated our research and also provided some good tips on dining, shopping, etc. A bottle of Chardonnay awaited us in the fridge. There are plumeria flowers that fall from the trees in front of the villa that I gathered every day to make an arrangement with. Parking is right outside the front door.

The villa was very clean. The decor inside is updated, and as a designer I appreciated the artwork and cool graphic posters. The dinnerware is also contemporary and there is everything in the kitchen needed to chop up that sugar loaf pineapple or to cook up some shrimp tacos. And the lanai was private with tropical greenery and a place we enjoyed relaxing with our morning Kona coffee (there a drip coffee maker) before our day of adventure. I appreciated having so much available to us; ice packs & coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, washer and dryer (with detergent and even dryer sheets) and more.

Wifi and air conditioning were also things on our check list that this villa had.

It's tucked away and very peaceful, yet walking distance to Brennecke's Beach for boogie boarding and Poipu Beach for snorkeling. There's also a local coffee shop, Little Fish, within walking distance. I would book this villa again in a heartbeat, and would highly recommend to friends. Mahalo!

We loved our stay at Poipu Crater. It was a wonderful feeling to drive down the driveway away from the bustle of Poipu and enjoy our quiet hideaway. The greenery around the porch provided privacy and a sense of being in the jungle, with bananas and birds all around. The development was very quiet and the unit met all our needs. The a/c worked great to cool down the bedrooms so we could sleep well; that was the only time we used it. It was also just a quick walk to the beach!

We stayed for a month with our 1.5 year-old toddler and had a great time. Place was clean, AC in every room, 10-15-minute walks to Poipu beach or Shipwreck beach. We bought groceries and cooked / baked often in the well-equipped kitchen.

My favorite thing about our stay here was the back porch. Looking out and being surrounded by all the beautiful plants and hearing lots of different birds singing. Great place to eat and read a book. The furniture on the inside was comfortable and the place was worked for our family of four. The kitchen is well stocked. This is a two story place with one room downstairs so I don't think it would work for small children. We drove most places but did enjoy walking to see the sea turtles near the Hyatt.

Property was perfect for our stay. It is close to everything but feels like a secluded tropical paradise with fruit trees and lush greenery surrounding the unit. The home has fully stocked kitchen with everything, plenty of silverware so you only need dishwasher once a week. Beautiful place settings and a nice coffee pot. Beach chairs provided, coolers, boogey boards, etc. A cold bottle of wine awaited our arrival with two chilled glasses and cork screw in refrigerator. Nice touch. Very pleased with stay.

Great location on the south side of the island. Easy access to the beaches and short drive to Waimea and other historical sites. Shopping places are a short distance away. Property is well kept. Some attention to details were a nice touch. Had a great conversation with the owner/manager Erik before checking in. Really like the place and we will be planning to stay here on our next trip.

We enjoyed our time at Poipu Crater very much. It was the perfect amount of room for my husband and I and two young adult children. Everything was exactly as advertised. We really appreciated the chilled bottle of wine upon arrival! The condo was well-equipped for cooking meals and the beach gear (chairs, coolers, umbrellas, boogie board etc) completed our trip. The fully covered lanai stayed shaded and was perfect for sitting out our first two days/nights when the rain was heavy. The location is ideal for easy walks to Poipu public beach and to Shipwreck beach. The pool area here at the condo was very nice as well. Mahalo for sharing your condo with us!

Great accommodations, all necessary kitchen items and then some, excellent master bed. Very peaceful setting in the crater. Loved hearing the numerous birds every morning while having coffee on the deck. Pool and tennis court close by. 10 minute walk to Poipu Beach for snorkeling. I had a good retreat! Loved running to Brennacke’s twice a day and seeing/smelling so many flowers along the way. Mahalo nui Loa ~ Kaycee

The townhouse was noteably clean. It was also well stocked including outting accessories. We had an unexpected request and housekeeping was prompt to assist with our needs. Our 17 family members were sprinkled about Poipu in walking distance. We loved our central location being in the crater with its abundance of lush tropical foliage. There’s a teeny bit of elevation, the exercise was great.

The condo was spacious and well appointed. Plenty of dishes, glasses, pots, shampoo, soap, etc. Boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers (and blue cooler inserts). Ice cold bottle of white wine and 2 chilled glasses were in the refrigerator. BBQs, pool were great. Walking distance to beaches, bars. It was a little warm during our visit and no AC in the bedrooms. We left all windows and sliders open during our stay to get a cross breeze. Every night we ate out on the lanai. I would look at returning to this unit if my travels take me again to Kauai. Traffic on this side of Lihue was light - on the other side towards Kapaa (coming back to Lihue was awful).

VRBO 06/05/2018 (Stayed Apr 2018) We loved our stay at Poipu Crater. It was relaxing to come home to after long days adventuring. It was quiet and clean with lush vegetation. Sitting out on the lanai and watching the birds and lizards was especially fun for our 3 yr old. We loved that we could walk to Poipu Beach with swimming and snorkelling areas for all ages and a playground as well. Thanks to a well stocked cottage, we had everything we needed for the beach as well as cooking at home. We had a great time and would definitely come back.

Condo was in a great location - near the beach but private and quiet. Very well equipped - the kitchen had everything we needed and the closets were stocked with fun beach gear. There is no AC but we found the ceiling fans and open windows provided a great breeze. There were a couple of maintenance issues but none that really affected our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay in the Tranquil Cottage located in Poipu Crater. The location was unbeatable, the unit was nicely furnished, clean, and had great amenities. We especially appreciated the extras that came with the rental – including beach chairs, coolers, towels, and boogie boards. The condo had everything that we needed, it was even stocked with games our kids loved. The entire property at Poipu Crater had immaculate landscaping, which we were able to enjoy from the lanai. Poipu beach was located a short distance from the property, which was perfect for snorkeling and we even saw turtles and harbor seals on the beach. While on vacation we decided to extend our stay, the property manager was great to work with to make this happen. We definitely plan on booking this exact property in the near future.
