The A/C is not exactly what you might expect; it's a free-standing air con, not central A/C. It also doesn't get the room very cold. That said, we just kept the windows open and fans on, which even in the middle of August was enough to stay comfortable. Otherwise, the place/location was beautiful and check in/out were very easy. No complaints at all.

Very nice condo with amazing view.
The property was beautiful, condo was very nice. It was stocked well with everything you could need, minus food. The bed is very comfortable. There is a large portable AC in the bedroom, however it does not work to cool the bedroom, much less the rest of the condo. Our main complaint would be the hot muggy feel in the condo. Even with sleeping the all sliders open all night. If you leave both screens open in the living room and bedroom, you can get a breeze through that makes it tolerable. Just be aware that the wind will keep blowing open the bedroom screen, so you have to wedge something to keep it closed. The fringe does not like to stay closed either. All in all a beautiful condo and a great place to stay, if it had real AC it would be a 5 star rating. all the way. Just FYI the maids come in, even when you tell them no service.

Perfectly located, well maintained property with great amenities. Couldn't ask for more.
My wife and I visited for one week and hope to return. Not only was the property great, but we had everything we might need for off property excursions and beach trips, including a beach umbrella, beach chairs, a body board, flippers, and even two hydroflasks to keep water cool. All were provided for our use. It was a great trip and a phenomenal value.

Our favorite place on the Island
We’ve stayed at the Poipu Kapili in various different units over the years. The property is well situated near the beach and the grounds are immaculate. Pool is great and the barbecues on site are great for cooking. This unit was very nice and had all the amenities. It’s the first time staying in a 2nd floor unit and it did feel much warmer than the ground floor units but the lanai has a better view of the ocean so its a trade off.

What A Fabulous Oceanfront Space!
We loved our recent visit to Poilu Kapili #26. This condo was fantastic! Every little detail was thought of to make us feel perfectly at home during our stay. We truly couldn’t believe that the views in real life could better than the ones captured in the photos but they were!! The sound of the crashing waves mixed with the birds and chickens (of course!) were a delight to wake up to each morning. As we were leaving my husband said that he can’t wait to plan next years trip back to visit beautiful Kauai and this gorgeous condo again…I am holding him to it and can wait to begin planning our next trip!

Beautiful Condo - Beautiful View
We loved our month in this beautiful and comfortable condo! It was the perfect place to relax, read and enjoy the view. The kitchen was well equipped. We ate most of our meals in, and cooking was easy. Everything needed was available. We had breakfast and lunch on the lanai, and then used the lovely dining room for our dinner. The large bedroom has plenty of storage, although with the washing machine and dryer there is no need to over pack. We really enjoyed the location of Poipu Kapili. We loved the walks to the boat harbor in one direction and to the Hyatt in the other, and the Wednesday afternoon farmers’ market at the Kukui’ula shopping center kept us supplied with delicious fruits and vegetables. We are already discussing when we might return!

A Heavenly Piece of Paradise
We love this unit so much that this was our second time staying here. The view is the best and the unit could not be better equipped or more comfortable. Absolutely everything you need is provided. We cook and eat-in about half the time and it is perfect. We have recommended this condo to all our friends and many have enjoyed it as well. The entire resort is beautifully maintained and the pool is just the best. We love sitting on our deck and looking out over the ocean at sunrise, sunset, and all the times in between. You really don’t want to miss this relaxing retreat.

What a wonderful place!
We were very much surprised about everything this condo has to offer. First of all, the ocean views are exceptional! The location is in walking distance to shops and restaurants. We watched beautiful sunsets from a large balcony with high chairs and a nice glass table. The place is beautiful furnished, has a washer and drier, and the kitchen has everything you might need and more, so that we decided to cook several times. The bedroom has a portable AC, but the nice island breeze at night kept us comfortable and cool. The pool and the grounds are also wonderful. All in all, we could have not made a better choice. We will be back!

Simply Lovely with direct ocean and pool view!
I viewed every condo available at this lovely community and determined that THIS one was the best, and I was right! It is spacious and homey. Right away you feel at home. The bedroom has portable AC which comes in handy on the hotter days, as it keeps it perfect. Both bedroom and living rooms have ceiling fans which provide a nice breeze to keep you cool. The kitchen and bathrooms are stocked like a hotel, simply very well done. The front door has a combination lock so there is no chance of losing your key. The grounds are immaculate, and I mean perfect. They clean the pool every morning and check the grounds. If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable, inviting and stunning setting for a holiday, look no further. This is it!

Great place to stay.
Great View, Had every thing you could need. Softest towels I have ever used. Easy access. Great location. Only surprise was no central air, but it had a bedroom air-conditioner & by opening both sliding doors at each end the breeze kept it comfortable. I would stay here again. Definitely Two Thumbs UP!!

Most older condominium complexes and homes on Kauai dont have air conditioning since the trade winds bring nice cooling air to the island. The topic of installing central AC in Poipu Kapili was voted down by the homeowners association because most owners did not want to trade the comfort of AC for the quiet ambiance.

Beautiful condo in Paradise!!
My wife and I came here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary so had high expectations on the experience we were wanting. When looking online, you hope that you have selected the best condo for your celebration. This condo was exactly as presented and exceeded our expectations.
The view was amazing! The grounds are well manicured, the pool was wonderful, and the ocean was just a few steps from the complex where we enjoyed many gorgeous sunsets. The condo was beautifully decorated, and we loved all the art work and lovely touches that made it feel like home away from home. The furniture was very comfortable, and the family room had many built-ins with lots of great books. The dining room was lovely and the kitchen well stocked -we cooked several meals here, including fresh herbs from the gardens. The kitchen and pantry were stocked with everything you could ever need and more. The 2nd powder room had a large stacked washer and dryer with a drying rack. And the bedroom – just beautiful! The bed is very comfortable – pillows too! There is a large sliding glass door on both ends of the unit that allowed a wonderful island breeze to flow through the entire condo. We were always comfortable. In the evening, the bedroom closes off, and there is a/c for a very comfortable nights rest.
Within minutes you could walk to the Sheraton beach or jump in the car, and Poipu Beach was minutes away. The condo had everything you need for a day at the beach including 2 nice chairs, 1 very nice umbrella, body boards, snorkel gear, water shoes, coolers, and towels.
We’ve been to many of the islands, and this was our first trip to Kauai, and it has quickly become our favorite. We can’t wait to plan our next trip, and when we do, we will be coming back to unit 26. Mahalo

Home away from home condo with a great view of the ocean
This was a perfect condo for our 8-day stay on Kauai. The location is just a short walk away from some very good restaurants and a shopping village. And can easily walk to the beach in front of the Sheraton. Very spacious and has everything you need in the kitchen to prepare meals. A beautiful view on a very beautiful island.

Tranquil Paradise
My wife and I came here on our honeymoon and absolutely loved the place! We couldn’t have asked for anything better and more comfortable than this condo! It was spacious, clean, gorgeous and well located. We loved the pool and the beach was just a short walk away. Definitely recommend! (Also we loved the restaurants that were just up the road at The Shops at Kukui’ula).

Our second stay in PoiPu Kapili's #26 is one of the most desirable condos on the property!
We have been coming to Kauai for many years and many of the years have been spent in one of the PoiPu one bedroom condos. #26 is one of the most beautifully furnished, with all the ammenties needed for an extended stay. The grounds and pool are spectacular and maintained daily by their friendly staff. The property is located close enough to walk to the beach, shopping and other attractions. Sunsets viewed from the “wall” are a tradition for us as well as many locals!

Great location and amenities
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights end of March/early April. Great location if looking for great place to stay on the South shore. The place is very big with nice view and recommend for a couple. The kitchen is big and good for cooking. Fridge has a water filter which was very convenient. Plenty of kitchen items for use. Lot of beach equipment which we used a lot. (2 nice chairs, 1 very nice umbrella, body boards, snorkel gear, water shoes). Sheraton Beach is walking distance <10 min, and other beaches nearby which we drove to. The only negative part was it was very warm in living room and kitchen. Only the bedroom has air conditioning. That being said, I would stay here again.

Spectacular Condo in Paradise
You never really know if you have selected the best condo for your vacation until you walk in the door, relax on the furniture, use the kitchen, and sleep in the bed. This condo was exactly as presented.
The view was amazing: the landscaping, pool and then beyond …the ocean. The condo is beautifully decorated with very comfortable furniture, art work, and built-ins in the living/family room with lots of great books and a desk area for your convenience. The dining room was lovely and the kitchen well stocked (we cooked several meals here).The utility room/powder room had a stacked washer and dryer and a drying rack for wet suits and beach towels. The bedroom just beautifull! More built in cabinets, a very comfortable bed with great pillows (I am picky) and large doors/windows lining one wall. Their are attractive sliding wooden shutters on both the bedroom and living room doors/windows that give you privacy and yet let in a wonderful breeze that passes through the entire condo when the doors are open.
The entire “garland” island was just that…so much lush greenery. We visited so many beautiful places! There are two nice shopping areas and great restaurants near the condo. We especially enjoyed the Beach House Restaurant and Tide Pools at the Grand Hyatt. You must walk through the Grand Hyatt gardens even if you do not eat dinner there. Just beautiful!!
We are returning. When you find the perfect place to stay, you want to return.

THE BEST!
This apartment is everything you could want in a vacation rental. Including beach chairs, snorkel equipment with fins and umbrellas! It’s a beautiful upscale apartment in a wonderful quiet little community. Three minutes to Poipu Beach with wonderful snorkeling. No Need to go out on a boat. The view is exactly like the photos. Wonderful stay!
Had a wonderful time at the beautifully appointed condo! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need for cooking/baking. While we are out a lot it was great being able to cook here and there during our stay! The bed is super comfortable and the whole condo feels very homey. The beautiful trade winds come through the condo making it very comfortable but it was nice to have the air unit in bedroom at night when it was warmer. Is really hard to find an air conditioned place in Kauai I found when I was searching!
There were some high winds when we were there so we had a few days of wi-fi coming and going. Apparently this can be a common problem in Poipu so just know that…but it did not deter at all from our stay as we were out doing activities most of the time!
We highly recommend this place and would stay here again on our next stay to Kauai!
We were glad to host you in our Condo and glad you had a wonderful time. We do have increasing internet problems islandwide. There are a lot of people on island at any given time and the infrastructure is not really set up for that. Traditionally air conditioning is not common for homes and condos in the islands because of the trade winds and year round comfortable temperatures. Poipu Kapili is in the process of deciding to put AC in all unites. The upside of no AC on the property is that it is quiet. I hope we can accommodate you again in the future.

The Perfect Getaway
We delighted in our recent stay at Poipu Kapili. The condo was beautiful. It was the best stocked of any VRBO we have ever rented. There were great kitchen supplies, spices, knives, and utensils along with beach gear including chairs, umbrellas, ice chest, etc. We had a wonderful time and are already planning our return. It is the perfect location within easy walking distance of great beaches and shopping and restaurants. We were mesmerized by simply sitting on the lanai and watching the ocean. And the pool was wonderfully warm and inviting. This is the perfect Hawaii getaway.

Beautiful, updated condo in a great location.
We had a wonderful stay in unit #26. The complex is peaceful with a heated salt water pool. Great views of the sunset right outside the complex. Several nice restaurants within a 10-20 minute walk. I would definitely stay here again!

#26 Great unit with all you could possibly need
This condo is so beautiful inside and so well equipped that somehow everything that one needs is at your fingertips. The decorations have been used make the unit feel as if it’s your home. The owner has filled it with so many wonderful pieces of art that it is easy to forget that you are only renting. There are many items supplied for use at the beach also from boogie boards to ice chests. There are also many books and magazines on local attractions, restaurants and things to do. The Poipu Kapili Property itself is also beautiful, loved the plantation style and the overall laidback feel. The grounds are immaculate and very well cared for and if you would like a dip in the pool it’s a wonderful salt water black bottom pool that just adds to the overall feeling of relaxation. A stay at #26 will not disappoint. Aloha!

Breathtaking Views and Stately Decor
We loved the condo. The moment we stepped foot inside we both were so impressed by the view from the living area. We loved the tasteful upgrades throughout, including the kitchen, and the built in cabinets in the bedroom and living room. We spent a lot of time on the lanai, enjoying the view of the ocean and the pool. We swam, walked to the beach to see the sunset. The bed was very comfy and with the bedroom a/c and the additional fan, we slept peacefully. It was so hard to leave and are already looking at returning. Amazing vacation and unit. The best on the island!

We just returned after 3 nights. The condo’s location is perfect, overlooking the Pacific. The unit is well-equipped with no
detail overlooked. The condo was IMMACULATELY clean, quiet, easily accessible via private elevator (or stairs) , very spacious and tastefully decorated
with beautiful art and furnishings. The grounds are well maintained as are all buildings on the property. Close to restaurants, grocery store and shops. Don’t miss the short trip to Waimea Canyon which is less than an hour away. Easy ride to and from airport.

Amazing Condo in Paradise
This is a wonderful property and can’t be missed if you’re looking to stay in Kauai. Amazing views and and every amenity you could possibly need are provided for you. It’s proximity to the beach, restaurants, and shopping make it super convenient. Definitely looking forward to a return visit to this condo in paradise.

Beautiful Oceanfront Gem
I’ve stayed in many vacation rentals over the years, and this condo is the jewel of them all. As soon as you open the door you’re greeted with serene, perfectly maintained grounds, a pool just steps away from the unit, and directly past that an absolutely spectacular view of the ocean. I was immediately immersed in a mood of peacefulness—exactly what I was hoping for. The condo itself is pristine, elegant and quiet, while at the same time very homey and personal. There are so many thoughtful details, especially obvious in the all the amenities provided. You can easily walk to the many fun things that south shore has to offer, but the condo is so comfortable and beautiful it felt good to just sit on the lanai and let the view wash away a load of pre-vacation stress. This condo is at the top of my “must return to” list. In addition to vrbo suggested recommendations for use it’s perfect for an artist, writer, or someone who wants a few days retreat in extraordinarily beautiful surroundings.
