The property is very well maintained. Absolutly great view of the water and surrounding area. They provided everything needed for our stay. Having a full kitchen and laundry set up was perfect. The pool is just purfect to cool off in. We have been to all of the islands and find Kauai the most restfull of all. We would highly recommend this property for 2 to 4 persons.

We had a great experience overall. We already planning our next trip for next year. We loved that we waked up every morning to have coffee to watch the sunrise, turtles and dolphins at the back of the property.

Nice property and beautiful view. Wish the pool was larger and overlooking ocean and not in back of building. Otherwise great. Fully stocked with everything we could have possibly needed

This condo is perfect! Ocean view, beach umbrella and chairs, plus snorkeling equipment. The kitchen is fully stocked and the outside furniture was varied and comfortable. The nightly sunsets were incredible!

The location is fantastic and the view from the lanai is so good that we spent a lot of time at the property. We saw dolphins, whales and turtles from the lanai. Location is easily walkable to Poipu Beach and a great coastal trail just to the east of the property. We will be back! Thank you

This condo worked out perfectly. It looked great just like the online photos and the oceanfront location was beautiful and convenient. We loved watching the turtles from the lanai every day and there were great beaches just a short walk away. The communication from Parrish Kauai was excellent. The only thing we wished we had were a few staples for the kitchen. There were no spices, oil or condiments, but there were plenty of dishes and cookware. We would stay again!

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The rental was just as advertized and the kitchen was very well equipped. We loved being right on the ocean and being able to walk out the back door. The location was also great as we were able to walk to both Poipu and Shipwreck beaches. It was a very comfortable place for four people.

Ocean is right in your back yard!! The condo is updated and has everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing vacation. It is also in a nice area close to stores and restaurants.

Perfect oceanfront,condo in Poipu for relaxing, or watching whales and sunsets from the living room or lanai, with soothing sound of the ocean at night. Photos are accurate, though the master bath and bed are cozy. Would definitely stay in this lovely unit again.

Condo was very clean and beautifully decorated with a fully equipped kitchen. Great location to watch the turtles feeding off the reefs right below the condo. Awesome sunsets and star gazing at night! Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this condo!

Renting was very easy.

Only downside was not having AC as advertised. Otherwise this property was perfect-great lanai to enjoy sunsets on. Property is equipped with everything needed! This was a great place to spend our honeymoon!

Condo was very well equipped and beautifully furnished. The deck was great with an amazing view and very private. No air conditioning, however when opening the slatted windows the ocean breeze kept the unit very comfortable. Great location and nice people to rent from, would highly recommend!

The condo was perfect in every way! Very clear and helpful instructions for all our needs. We would definitely stay again. It’s a great location to walk to multiple area beaches. I recommend making reservations for dining and for any activities as soon as you begin planning your trip, as we did not, and we missed out on a few things we had been planning to do. Overall, this is a very relaxing place to stay, and we enjoyed the property.

Parking was an issue

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Poipu Makai. The owners answered all our questions ahead of time, and the condo was as expected. My husband, our 16-year-old son and his friend, and I stayed 10 nights. The boys did online school in the mornings and the wifi was reliable and strong enough for remote school and work. Some evenings we played Scrabble or watched Netflix on the living room tv together. We loved the sounds of the ocean waves and the views. We enjoyed lounging on the patio in the morning shade, watching the ocean--with whales and sea turtles a regular sight! As the sun moved across the southern sky, we were able to manage afternoon sun and heat just fine with the shades and fans. (Though we were often out in the afternoons at the beach, as the boys took a surfing lesson and then rented boards at Nukumoi\'s and practices surfing daily at the Sheraton beach.) Plenty of towels bath and beach towels, nice beach chairs, great outdoor tables and chairs. The BBQ for the building was just 10 seconds from the entry and in great condition. The kitchen was updated with lots of supplies. We loved the kitchen window to the sea and outdoor dining area. We were also very glad to have the 2 bathrooms. I could go on, but suffice to say we would love to return.

One of the best rentals we’ve had! Everything we needed and more. Perfect location and awesome view. We didn’t want to leave the unit!

This unit is better than the pictures shown. It was very clean and nicely equipped. The daily show of whales passing by was much appreciated and sunsets were unbelievable. We had a fabulous time here. The condo was fully stocked with beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and coolers. The location was fabulous and we saw turtles, dolphins, and whales from the back area. The kids did play in the small pool in the common area, but word of caution - it\'s not heated. They didn\'t seem to mind. 🙂

Great communication. I did not realize the unit had no A/C as I was focused on the location more than the amenities. However, having fans throughout the unit helped. Stunning views and very quiet, perfect getaway.

This Poipu condo is a very convenient location for exploring the West, South and eastern parts of the island. There were 2 adult couples in our group and we stayed at this location for 6 nights. The condo was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked. It was very hot and humid during our stay but we found the fans to be very helpful. We spent the first 4 nights of our vacation at a waterfront condo on the north shore and experienced the same kind of heat and humidity so we think it may have more to do with timing than location. While at the Poipu condo we watched the turtles from our lanai and also watched a group of dolphins swim by. We had magnificent sunsets each night and a beautiful rainbow most mornings. We also did nightly star gazing from the lanai and were treated to several shooting stars. The walk to Shipwreck Beach is very doable but would recommend going in the morning when it is a bit cooler. Lots of beautiful beaches nearby and good shopping. The owners had many great tips for getting the most out of our vacation. Thank you Marcie and Ted

My husband and I spent a fantastic four nights in this beautiful condo. And, the location is nothing short of amazing—literally steps from the ocean. The sunsets each night are fantastic and it was so relaxing to go to sleep to the sound of waves.

We had a wonderful week in Kauai. The condo was fantastic and could not be better localized. The sunsets were breathtaking! The condo was super clean. This was a very warm week in Kauai and without A/C it was a bit difficult during the nights but we totally enjoyed our stay anyway and would recommend this place without hesitation

Tucked away, this ocean front, first floor property had all amenities you\'d ever want/need! Beach towels and chairs, Malie shampoo and conditioner, full kitchen and laundry. Was a bit hot when we were there, fans helped a little bit I\'m sure the lack of headwinds wasn\'t normal! But the place was great

We stayed here with our two teenage sons and had a fantastic time. The condo is beautiful, clean and convenient to many restaurants and activities. Marcie was very kind and helpful before and during our stay. I highly recommend staying here. I enjoyed having coffee on the Lanai in the mornings and relaxing with the family in the evenings.

We really enjoyed the spacious and well decorated interior. Everything you needed was in the unit such as high quality beach towels and amazing bath soaps. Marcie was so responsive to any of our questions and super nice. The location was walking distance to Poipou Beach. There was a great playground for kids (mine was 5) at the beach and large open, grassy, picnic area. We traveled quite a bit via car and nothing was more than about an hour away. We absolutely fell in love with Kauai. It was so different from Maui and we are very excited to return.

We stayed at the most beautiful and clean condo for the week of April 4-11th. Every amenity was provided. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The ocean views were stunning! We loved listening to the waves crash against the shore and watching the sunset each evening! We truly enjoyed our visit to paradise!

This is our second time staying here. It would have been more but they stay booked so plan well in advance so you don\'t miss out. I can\'t say enough good things about the condo, views, and owners. It is well maintained and cared for and always have plenty of beach gear, games, and ideas for their guests. Beautifully furnished and love the layout with the kitchen and living room facing the ocean. Can hardly wait to return!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful condo in Poipu. It has a great location. We enjoyed the view and the gorgeous sunsets. We walked down to the rocks below and could see the turtles feeding. We saw whales from the lanai. The binoculars were appreciated! I would definitely stay here again!

This condo was absolutely amazing! There was more than enough room for our family of four. The home owners contacted us before our stay and ensured that everything was ready for our visit. The gathering spaces - dining room, outdoor table and chaise and bar top table were great for our family to eat and visit together throughout the day. The condo is centrally located to multiple beaches and places to eat. We really felt like we were in our own home when we were here. I have recommended to several people already that they stay at this home!

Very nice condo. Very clean and nicely appointed. Cannot beat the view. Turtles, dolphins and whales all from the lanai. Everything you could need in the kitchen. Ice maker works well. Beds very comfortable. Owners very responsive. One issue I will address is the number of stairs. For anyone with walking disabilities this might be an issue, not a lot of stairs, but \"ground floor\" kind of deceiving, as there are some stairs. This was not an issue for us, just fyi. Book this condo, you won\'t be sorry.

Ted and Marcie were fantastic to work with. They provided us with so much information and recommendations two weeks before our arrival and made sure to answer any questions we may have had. Their condo is stunning, you cannot beat the view. The sunsets either on the lanai or down by the rocks were splendid and was in a prime location with walking distance along the heritage trail and to Poipu Beach. Within the condo are comfortable beds, updated kitchen and bathrooms. Ted and Marcie literally provide everything for you including bathroom essentials so all you need to bring is your clothes and bathing suits! This was our first time on the island and it certainly won’t be our last, we highly recommend staying at this condo and we know we will be back in the future. Thank you for everything!

Owners were very helpful and the property was stocked well with towels kitchen and beach stuff. Great view. Lots of stairs to get to condo (Mom was expected something easier for the bottom floor) but well worth it.

The condo is very comfortable, clean, and well equipped. We cooked most of our meals here. The ocean views are stunning. And it’s a great location with easy access to the Poipu beaches. We would definitely stay here again.

My Fiance and I stay here while we were visiting to get married. This condo is in a great location with great views. The condo is well furnished and you can definitely tell it is well loved. Marci and Ted are the best and ultra responsive. So happy we rented directly from owners vs. going through one of the property management companies on the island. Has a much more personal touch through booking and what was available in the condo compared to other condos our family rented. Highly recommended! We\'ll be back!

This was our third stay on the island and this was the best place we have stayed! The condo is in the perfect location to all activities on the sunny side of the island. The walk to the beaches was easy and the sunsets off the lanai spectacular! We had lots of whale sighting from the picturesque windows. The kitchen is well stocked as well as the rest of the condo. This property was a great place to spend our time on Kauai. We had many whale sightings any time during the day and a few times dolphins. Turtles were always seen along the coastline, just a few steps off the lanai. We enjoyed daily 10 minute walks to either Shipwreck Beach or Poipu Beach where we always saw turtles and seals resting on the beach. This place is great for enjoying the beautiful Hawaiian sunsets. We were impressed by the excellent service by the owners and this place has everything one needs to stay. Thank you Ted and Marcie.

This condo was perfect for our family. The location was excellent and condo was everything we could have asked for. From the amazing view, to a well stocked kitchen and everything in between was pretty much perfection. Not one single regret about our choice to rent here.

Our stay in Kauai was terrific & your condo only improved our experience. We have never stayed in a better equipped place - especially the kitchen - wow!! And the decor - stunning - so much attention to detail - it really did feel like a “home”. A small suggestion - the front door area is very dark & the light only comes on at night. So it was really hard to find the door handle, etc during the day - if there’s a way to get around that it would be helpful to folks. Otherwise, people can’t ask for a better place for their Kauai stay. Mahalo for a wonderful experience.

Amazing location on the south shore. My husband and I travelled here for our third time. This was by far the best location we have ever stayed. The views were STUNNING. And the sounds of the waves hitting the lava rocks below is a sound we all were impressed by! The condo itself was so spacious. Six adults stayed here and we never felt cramped and that we had enough space to sit and relax. The lanai was perfect for breakfast and watching the island come alive. Staying on the south shore is great because accessing the other parts of the islands doesn't take too long and it's great to feel somewhat centralized. We would absolutely recommend this location and rental to all of our friends and family who are looking for a perfect stay. I felt we really got a lot for the value of what we paid. Also Marcie and Ted were extremely prompt on answering questions and corresponding. Just an amazing experience overall and memories for a lifetime created while we were there. Thanks so much!!

This place was fantastic. Very well furnished and beautifully decorated. The sound of the ocean splashing on the rocks surrounding the property was wonderful. So was the view with first-rate seating to look at the sunset every night while sipping a drink on the lanai. The owners gave us lots of very useful information about the area.

This condo was above and beyond our expectations

When I found this unit on VRBO, the unit looked like it was nice. But as those things go, "you never know" until you get there. When we got there, it was DEFINITELY nice! The owners, Ted & Marcie have built a lovely and spacious condo for couples and small families. The property is right on the south tip of the island, so the waves splash (and crash, if there's a swell) up against the rocks below. For me, this is heaven. The very first afternoon we saw a bunch of turtles and a sunset that was easily on par with one of the best I've ever seen. The next morning, we saw a pod of ~50 dolphins! The rooms were nice. Everything was clean. The bathrooms & kitchen were redone, and the kitchen had literally every kind of cutter (pineapples), grinder, rice cooker, etc. We BBQ'd and had many meals at home on their lanai, enjoying the environment.

Each morning, I had to work in the early hours while everyone slept. The internet connection was superb. We watched Netflix at night before bed. Made yummy coffee each morning (whole bean, from Kauai Coffee Co a few miles away), didn't have any trouble w/ mosquitoes, trades blew most of the time. It truly is a great property and would go again in a heartbeat.

Now, for a few nuancey things:

* FANS - they had fans in every room, but the one in the main room wasn't as strong as I would've preferred (I was working at the table with my computer). I ended up buying a small Honeywell from Walmart and took it home with me... so it was fine.

* BATHROOMS - The shampoo dispenser in the hall bathroom didn't work (no biggie). The master bath was narrow with an "open shower". It's nice, but a little squishy for a big guy like me. Be sure to keep a shower mat as water will spray out if you're not careful. Again, nit-picky stuff

* POOL - The pool area is adjacent to the D building and D1 is "right there" when kids are playing. The good news is that the hours are from 7AM - 7PM. Everyone was pretty respectful although some nucklehead parents attempted to let their kids play in there by themselves at 6:30AM. I asked for them to stop and they were respectful.

* DRIVEWAY - If you're driving a sedan, be a little careful going in and out of the parking area as you will scrape. It was nice having covered parking

Other than that, I really don't have anything bad to report. If you're planning a stay in Poipu, you should consider staying here. It's nice, quiet, kempt, well-designed, and right on the ocean!! We'll come back for sure!!!

We will always cherish our trip to Kauai! It is one of the spectacular places of the world. And our apartment in Poipu Makai was perfect. Incredible views from porch and outdoor dinning place. All the amenities were there and our two grandchildren slept very comfortably on the sofa futon and enjoyed the small pool. We would surely recommend it as the place to stay when in Kauai.

We can't say enough about our stay at Ted and Marcie's condo in Poipu. From the moment you walk in the door and see that ocean view you know how special this place is. This condo is literally on the ocean. We felt like we were in our own little world. There are only 15 condos in this complex. It is quiet and private. My sister and her family of 5 rented out another 3 bedroom condo here. Our condo is wonderfully decorated and spotless. The whole thing has been updated. We had everything we needed for our 10 day stay. The kitchen was stocked with every appliance and tool you could imagine. There were coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards and lots of beach towels. The condo was equipped with a full size washer and dryer which came in very handy. Every morning we would make our coffee and sit outside and look at the beautiful view. We walked down to the rocks and looked for turtles. We always saw the same 3 turtles which we lovingly named Charlie, Abigail and Fernand. We also sat down there at sunset and had our happy hour there. It was spectacular. The waves crashing against the rocks below lulled us to sleep each night. This condo does not have AC, which did not bother us at all. There were plenty of fans and a wonderful cross breeze from the ocean. The beaches are literally 2 minutes away by car or a 7 minute walk. All the boys loved Brennekes beach for boogie boarding. One day the boys were so excited because there was a family of sea turtles riding the waves alongside of them. We preferred the calmer Poipu Beach. We sat near the sandbar and swam on the right side of it. It has more of a sandy bottom. As we were floating around, you could see all sorts of beautiful fish just swimming with you. There is a 2.5 mile path that leads you up the coast. It is an easy walk. DON'T MISS THIS!! My husband and I walked this path several mornings and always saw something new. The views from the rocks literally took my breath away. Words cannot describe how beautiful this is. You will end up at Shipwreck beach. . This condo really felt like home to us. It was not just a rental condo, it was our home. We were all teary eyed as we looked down at our turtles for the last time. There was a double rainbow over the ocean as we said goodbye to our wonderful little piece of paradise. I cannot recommend this condo enough. Thank you Ted and Marcie for sharing your beautiful home with us. We will be back!!

This condo was perfect for our family of 4. We appreciated a modern kitchen, two bedrooms, a comfortable living room, and a lanai with amazing ocean views. The beach towels, chairs, coolers and umbrellas saved us a lot of packing space. Being only a mile from Poipu Beach was perfect. We would absolutely stay here again, and would recommend it highly to friends and family.

My husband and I stayed at Poipu Makai for 2 weeks while on Kauai in unit D1.

We found it very clean, kitchen well stocked with pots and pans, and super comfortable beds.

Sitting out on our lanai for early morning coffee and evening dinners was amazing, while we listened to the pounding surf below. We had the privilege one morning, to see a large pod of spinnaker dolphins just off shore!

I would highly recommend Ted and Marcie's place. In addition, Marcie has been awesome with her communication with me prior to and during our stay. Her directions and suggestions for markets/stores were much appreciated.

This is a beautiful condo that is well maintained. Everything has a new feel and you don\'t often see a bathroom for each bedroom. The location for the island is practical for all the activities that you might consider. The comments about the entrance being a car scraper are correct, but we found if we always entered from the right side we were fine. The view from the lanai\'s are gorgeous. We watched whales from the lanai, but due to the dropoff just after the landscape you don\'t see your immediate shoreline. So sea turtles were regularly seen when you walked to the edge of the property. Still a wonderful view and we would recommend staying here.

Wow, what can we say, this place is so amazing! The view right next to the ocean is spectacular! We saw whales one morning right outside the condo, plus the sea turtles were so fun to watch. We would definitely stay here again! Plus we went on a whale watching tour and were treated to a whole pod of whales. One even completely jumped out of the water and made a splash landing! It was once in a lifetime experience! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful condo!! There is everything you need here, binoculars, towels, umbrellas and the beds were very nice too! Our stay at this condo was fantastic. The views from the patio area as well as kitchen and living areas of the condo are priceless. The sunsets are magnificent. We found the condo to be well stocked from entertainment, kitchen, and bathroom. There are plenty of towels for bath and a large enough hot water heater for showers and laundry. The beds are extremely comfortable with extra blankets and pillows.

There are plenty of beach towels, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, binoculars and pool noodles and kick boards. The beach is within easy walking distance, however if you are taking a bunch of beach gear and a full cooler you may want to consider driving. The beach area offers turtles and monk seals for a magnificent experience. The water is so clear you can view colorful fish with your naked eyes.

The pool and grill area are just outside your back door. The area is well maintained. The pool is small, as pictured, and gets very little sun due to the magnificent foliage growing around the area. While we were there we never saw anyone use the pool. The beach is a great alternative.

Around the condo area is a path down to the lava rocks to see the turtles. Nature is everywhere with whale viewing, birds, dolphins, sea turtles and more. It great to watch the boats, paddle boards, surfers, and kayakers pass by.

We had a minor issue which was addressed immediately. Ted and Marcie went above and beyond to make sure it was resolved quickly and checked back to make sure it was resolved to our satisfaction. Our expectations were exceeded.

A minor inconvenience is the parking area. The area is crowded and it is difficult to maneuver the structure. The driveway entry to get in and out of the condo is in need of some repair. The uneven surface causes the car to scrape bottom on the way in an out. This is no fault to this condominium owner. Just use caution and go slowly. Street parking is available and ample.

Overall this property is highly recommended. It was very clean, well maintained, nicely decorated, well stocked and ideal for couples and families.

This was an incredible space. We walked in and couldn't believe the view. The space was very clean and we had more than enough amenities. The lanai was probably our favorite part of the space! The views were incredible, very private feeling, and turtles just below! Ted and Marcie were very easy to communicate with. Ted was very responsive when I had an issue opening the safe (due to user error, I think...). They were lovely to work with and I definitely would want to return. Thank you so much, you two. You made the entry into 2017 incredible. We are very grateful. <3

We enjoyed a blissful 4 days/nights at Ted and Marci\'s condo. The space was so comfortable, clean and well decorated. The view and outside space are unbelievable. We wanted to see turtles and whales, both of which were in abundance right in front of the condo. The short walk down to the rocky cove is easy and we saw more than 12 turtles right there. The neighborhood is pretty, bananas grow on trees just down the street, and the nearby beaches and restaurants were fabulous. It couldn\'t have been more perfect. Can\'t wait to come back. Mahalo!!

Ted & Marcie were great at getting back to us and giving directions to the condo and other info. The condo is amazing spacious and well equipped . The view from the lania was breath taking. We saw turtles and whales. It was a wonderful experience .

Accomodating owners, recent remodelled kitchen. Clean overall, however a bit dated. It will be great to leave the fans running when guests are expected to occupy the property. Otherwise, a musty smell will be felt. It\'s great for groups a friends, young small family favoring privacy and closeness to the beach, restaurants...

The Poipu location is fantastic, and being on the first floor was nice in that it made access to the grass area very accessible. The kitchen was well-outfitted, and everything was clean and functional. Lots of binoculars, beach towels and chairs as well. Overall, a great place to stay. A few notes: if you\'re a pool person, know that it is small and cold. Also, the WiFi is very slow if you're counting on that, and there is a single service for TV/WiFi/Phone, all of which went out twice for several hours while we were there. That coupled with no cell service by the water made planning difficult.

As a vacation getaway, we could not have asked for more. This was our first stay on Kaua'i and we loved it. It has just the right amount of old Hawaii and modern convenience for us. We had our choice of beaches each day, depending on whether we felt like boogie boarding or swimming. All a short drive away from our spectacular condo.

The condo is in the heart of Poipu, which to us, seemed to be the perfect launching point for everything Kaua'i has to offer. We arrived to find it extremely clean and well-equipped. There is local art throughout this tastefully decorated home. Part of our fun was figuring out where the art came from so we could take some home with us. I was stumped to find one kitchen utensil that wasn't supplied. We made great use of the blender for our afternoon Margaritas on the lanai. From the lanai, we saw pods of porpoises, usually in the early afternoon, and a pod of whales, spouting off in the distance. The turtles were there to greet us every time we ventured down to the rocks below.

It was one of those rare vacations where I looked enviously at the travellers getting off the plane as we were about to board for our flight home. We are already talking about our next trip and we hope that Marcie and Ted's lovely condo will be available for us. Mahalo!

Great location, close to Poipu Beach and old town Koloa. Could not ask for a better view for sunsets or more quiet location near everything in Poipu Beach, Kaua'i. Marcie and Ted were great hosts, quick response to any problem or concern, our coffee maker had to be replaced and they did so promptly. Otherwise no problems with the well equipped condominium. Also included many suggestions as to activities and local restaurants. Only slight drawback for families with children is the pool is very small. Will definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Poipu Makai (PM) over the past eight days has surpassed our expectations. As I write this review I am sitting at a table on the lanai listening to the sound of waves and birds, all in full view of palm trees and ocean. What a setting! This being a ground floor unit, a well-maintained lawn extends the lanai. Mornings and the last hours of the day are the best time to enjoy the lanai, or during an occasional and brief rain. Watching the sun set, and there is no better place to do so, is the perfect beginning to a relaxing and restful evening.

The beds, including the hide-a-bed, are comfortable, as are the pillows. The kitchen is well supplied; we cooked many of our evening meals at home. There is a propane-fueled grill at the pool, which is in sight of PM and mere steps from the front door. There's plenty of hot water for showers - we never ran short during our stay even with the dishwasher running. There is also an outdoor shower at the pool and faucet near it (for rinsing sand from feet). We used the grill several times, as did other vacationers staying nearby.

There are four beach chairs, beach towels (4) and a beach umbrella (the envy of others because the spokes are made of rectangular aluminum tube rather than the more familiar light-weight rods that seem to invert an umbrella with the slightest breeze; not so with this one).

The owners, Marcie and Ted, are kind and very responsive, and we greatly appreciate their willingness to share their Kaua'i condominium. The condominium complex consists of 15 units in all, so there's never a feeling of being crowded. We would stay here again without giving it a second thought.

Side note: Fresh fish is available locally in Koloa at the Koloa Fish Market and reasonably priced; however, it's cash only so come prepared. The Koloa Deli makes excellent sandwiches, again reasonably priced. Favorite beach, especially in the late afternoon: next to (east side) the Sheraton. Enjoy!

This condo was absolutely perfect for a quiet getaway with adventures around every corner. This is our second time to say at D-1 and we will continue to rent out this property. The sunsets and ocean view are spectacular. We had breakfast looking out on the ocean everyday and watched the sun set sail into the ocean every night. The condo has a great central location with so many things to do around it. We will have to come back many more times to experience then entirety of the island and will definitely be staying here!! D-1 at Poipu Makai was perfect for our family of 5. Beautiful ocean front condo. The owners take great pride in their well-appointed home. Best location for walking to the beaches and the Grand Hyatt. Close to shopping, restaurants. We will be back!

The property is right near the ocean and it was great listening to the waves. The property was clean and had a washer & dryer & lawn chairs that were very useful for the beach. It was so convenient having a kitchen and a spacious family room and we felt right at home!

From the minute we walked in the first thing you see is the amazing ocean. The condo is clean, up to date and the owners could not be nicer. There were 4 of us. 2 adults and 2 teenagers.

This condo was stocked with everything we needed. Beach chairs, coolers, umbrella and towels- so nice not to have to worry about anything.

We loved the ground floor location. Out the doors to the lanai where we served breakfast a few mornings. Just beautiful. I read the complaints about the size of the pool . We jumped in a time or two and it was fine. Unless your swimming laps, it does the job. Nice place to cool off after the beach.

Highly recommend this condo. We opened the windows for cross breeze and it was better than air conditioning. Beds were comfortable, we did bring our own pillows- habit of ours. We walked to the beach and a breakfast spot in the morning. Great location.

What a wonderful way to spend our time in Poipu. This unit is strategically placed in the Poipu area. The unit is a nice 2 bedroom unit with an Oceanfront view. We had nightly sunsets off to the west as we sat down for dinner on the patio table. Mornings were spent enjoying coffee and gazing to the horizon watching gray whales and spinner dolphins passing by, local turtles frequent the waters right below the condo. The condo is walking distance to Brennecke's Beach ( body boarding) and Poipu Beach (family beach and snorkeling) which was frequented by a local monk seal that spent his days sunning on the beach. The unit itself has everything you need to cook and prepare all meals throughout the day. Television and Wi-Fi Internet is provided as well and they even throw in a phone for local and long distance calling. There is a small pool in the condo that we found ourselves retiring to for a little quiet and relaxation. We loved our stay at this unit so much we booked it for another 10 days next year. I Highly Recommend this spot!!! You wont be disappointed!

We enjoyed staying in this adorable condo for a week in March. The location was great, and amenities just as advertised. The parking was ample but spaces very tight. The ceiling fans and cross breezes were a blessing in the hot weather and only on one day did we miss having a/c. We appreciated the availability of beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, books and binoculars. A great place that we would consider returning to upon our next visit to Kauai!

Two couples shared this roomy 2 bedroom condo. We were very comfortable. The beds were great, the interior was beautifully decorated and the view of the water was one of the best in the Poipu Area (we have stayed in many condo buildings here). The kitchen was beautifully updated with nice white cabinets and quartz or granite countertops. It was also equipped with anything you might need to cook at home and the grill was steps from your door. The owners were very good at providing all of the information you would need about both the property itself and the area around Poipu Beach. We enjoyed many of the restaurants that they recommended, including La Spezia and Keoki's. I would definitely have given this property 5 stars except for the small pool which was virtually unuseable. However, if you don't care about having a pool, it's a great deal and a wonderful place to spend a vacation!

My Family spent 10 nights at this wonderful vacation condo. The view is amazing! The pictures shown on the listing are what the condo looks like. Everything we needed to enjoy the beach was provided as well, which was so convenient. We watched Humback Whales from the Lanai and could see the Sea Turtles from above and we also walked down to the lava rocks to see them closer. The Kitchen is well equipped and we prepared many meals at the condo and also used the gas bbq which is located just steps outside the front door. The washer and dryer were great to have for towels from the beach and we packed less clothing. The swimming pool is small and doesn\'t get much sun but we preferred to be at the beach anyway. The Wi-Fi was great and Netflix for my 2 year old granddaughter. Ted and Marcie responded quickly to all communications. Can\'t wait to go back!

This rental condo was outright amazing. The home itself was beautifully furnished and had many things the owners didn't necessarily need to leave for renters. I woke up wondering what adventures we\'d do each day and still be back in time to watch the whales breach under the sunset. There are some stairs to get down to the unit, but it is ground floor on the ocean side. The grill is footsteps away from the front door. One thing I will say...we never used the pool & didn't ever see anyone else who did, so don't let that be a selling point.

Overall, the owners were super easy to work with & the neighbors were all very friendly. Plenty to walk & do from there or hop in the car to adventure out.

What a lovely space to spend time -- whales, dolphins and turtles just steps away from your condo. Best stocked kitchen ever! And it was so comfortable for our family of four. It's where l'm planning to spend my 60th birthday in 2017! Best vacation ever -- and it started with our comfy accommodations. Ted and Marcie were so accommodating. And the pictures -- they don't lie!

We have stayed in many places but this property is simply outstanding! We enjoyed our stay so much last year that we had to come back. The condo, in sunny Poipu, is in an ideal oceanfront location so you can watch the roaring waves crash at your door step and observe both the spectacular sunrise and sunset from the comfort of your outdoor living space. The Owners are wonderful and have taken care of every detail. Their top notch island decor and amenities allow you to relax the minute you arrive.

When I first opened the door, I said WOW when I saw the beautiful views from the condo directly on the ocean. We spent many evenings with gorgeous sunsets! The condo is stocked everything you could need! Condo is beautifully updated and decorated. Loved my daily walks down to the lava area to watch my sea turtles!! The two nearby beaches were wonderful...Shipwreck to watch the surfers and Poipu Beach where there is wonderful snorkeling! Loved my sunset cruises, helicopter rides, snorkeling. Kauai is absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for my trip to paradise.

This is a wonderful condo with an awesome location — right on the ocean, walking distance to two excellent beaches, and a sunset every night. We fell asleep to the sound of waves. The condo was clean and well appointed with everything we might need (even including boogie boards!), and clearly had an excellent remodel in recent years. The kitchen was particularly nice. The owners were very kind to us and easy to work with, and provided thorough and useful information before our arrival. The condo also has WiFi and the TVs are equipped with Netflix, which were two really nice extras. It does not have air conditioning, which if I had looked harder I would have known in advance — it happened to be really humid while we were there so sometimes it was a bit warm, but the condo has ceiling fans throughout and several floor fans, so it really was fine, especially while sleeping. The condo does have tile floors, which were lovely and cool and practical for a sandy island! We really enjoyed our time in Kauai and this was a great “home base” — we would absolutely return and stay here (and hope to!) and would highly recommend it to any friends looking for a romantic or family getaway and a great Kauai experience. The garden island is a beautiful place and this was a prime place to stay to really enjoy it fully.

What a beautiful place to stay! I loved the space of the condo, especially having our two kids with us. Everybody had their own space and bathroom! The view is spectacular! We saw dolphins, turtles...not to mention being right on the water! The condo was fully stocked with everything you need. They even had beach chairs, coolers and boogie boards for the kids. My husband and I got married at The Beach House Restaurant. It was a beautiful memorable week! Thank you Ted and Marcie for letting use your fantastic place!!

Thank you Ted and Marcie for a welcoming, peaceful and comfortable condo in Poipu! The views of the ocean were breathtaking! We walked/drove to the beach two times each day. With our smaller aged children we went to two beaches that were near the condo. Our boys enjoyed playing in the grass on the lanai in the mornings and evenings. We walked down a few times to the rocks and landed a few tide pools (filled with black crabs--boy are the fast, 2 shingle sea urchins, a lot of black sea urchins, tiny snails and little fish) and 3 sea turtles. We also to caught on video two geckos dancing or fighting. That was quite entertaining! It rained only one day and we found it fascinating watching the storm roll in. We also met some very friendly neighbors on both sides of us. We cooked a lot in the well supplied kitchen and ate out a few times. This condo had everything from sunscreen to beach chairs, towels and beach toys! We just enjoyed having everything you need for a day at the beach right in the condo especially the washer/dryer! We didn\'t have to pack as much clothing for us or the boys and grandma which kept our luggage a bit lighter! Thank you again for this prime location condo! We surely wanted to stay longer! Next time!! 🙂

From the moment we walked in... we LOVED this place. The view is AMAZING! We never looked down at the rocks without seeing turtles. The condo is clean, fresh, updated and so inviting. We started each morning with coffee on the lanai watching the ocean life (whales, dolphins, and turtles), spent time playing games with our kids in the evening and enjoyed some 'home cooked meals' in the great kitchen. We met some wonderful people that were staying at neighboring condos. Everyone was so VERY friendly. We could not have asked for a more prime location to activities, great weather, and comfortable place to stay. Thank you Warren and Marcie for creating such an wonderful place to enjoy paradise!! We did not want to leave!!

Thank you to Warren and Marcie for the wonderful stay at their Poipu condo. The kitchen was perfectly equipped (a brand new fridge had been installed right before our stay - the ice maker was a welcome bonus), the bed was almost too comfortable, and the view was spectacular! My new husband and I ate breakfast every morning and drank wine every evening on the perfectly appointed lanai. We saw whales, turtles and the most beautiful sunsets every day.

The condo was in a great location for snorkeling at Poipu Beach Park (equipment rental at Kimo's was inexpensive), and there are many restaurants in the area. We are coffee lovers, and highly recommend the walking tour and tastings at Kauai Coffee Co. Also recommended is Kauai Backcountry Adventure's Mountain Tubing tour. Ask for tour guide Chincia, she is hilarious.

The condo was fabulous. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations. When we first arrived, we went out on the lanai and enjoyed the first of many whale citings. We enjoyed sitting out there each morning and evening with our wonderful view of the ocean and whales. We even saw a school of dolphins one day. And the sunsets were spectacular. The condo was just as pictured. It was spacious, well appointed and had everything we needed. We really appreciated the information left by Marcie and Ted about places to go and things to do. We actually did quite a few things on the list and enjoyed everything we did. Great restaurants nearby. We didn't do a lot of shopping but went to the Friday Art night in Hanapepe and had a great time. The only minor issue we had is when we arrived, we met Dale the maintenance man and he mentioned there was a noise issue with the refrigerator and a new refrigerator had been ordered but wouldn't be replaced for a couple of weeks. We didn\'t think much of it, but it was really loud at times and woke us up a couple of nights. It was just one of those things, as I said. The issue was being addressed it was just kind of annoying. We hope to come back in January 2016 and stay longer. Six nights just wasn't long enough to enjoy this beautiful part of Kauai. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is thinking of a relaxing vacation on Kauai.

We truly enjoyed our stay in this condo !. It is spacious, confortable, well-equiped, clean, and well situated. The view from the ocean is spectacular ! The owners are very helpful in providing us with directions and information on surrounding areas, as well as recommended attraction points, which are easily accessible by foot. I would gladly recommend this place to my family and friends !

We just arrived back from a wonderful vacation highlighted by the fantastic condo and owners. Ted and Marcie were very helpful with any questions we had. The pictures are very true to the condo layout and really don\'t do it justice. Highly recommend staying here for the great views and location to a lot of restaurants and shopping. We saw turtles every day! Fantastic! Will stay again and will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

I can\'t say enough good things about this condo. Marcie and Tom have made it so welcoming, they really thought of everything. From the multiple pairs of binoculars, board games, movies and Netflix, I can\'t imagine anyone wanting anything else. They even sent me an email with recommendations for local places to check out, things you wouldn\'t find in a guide book. The location is great - you can walk about 5-10 minutes to a few different beaches. We loved having dinner on the lanai watching the sunset. There are beautiful rocks on the cliff below that allow for a walk along the coast and great photo opportunities.

This condo on Kauai's south shore was a great base for exploring the Garden Isle. This is a lovely 2 bedroom unit, close to the Grand Hyatt where I was attending a conference. Even though we arrived during a tropical storm, there was still plenty of sunny weather during the week so that we could enjoy the many beautiful areas of Kauai. The complex has a nice pool area with a gas grill where we did some cooking "at home." It's also convenient to restaurants when we wanted to eat out.

Marcie and Ted were great hosts, reaching out ahead of time to assist us with some planning. Marcie also talked us through the weather challenges, so we arrived confident that the storm would not ruin our long-planned Hawaii vacation.

The condo is stocked with the items needed to go to off to the beach, so you don't have to provide your own beach towels, coolers, etc. This is a very attractive unit, well-maintained and updated. And the view is gorgeous!

We had a really great vacation and this condo had a lot to do with it. The location was perfect - both that it was in Poipu (my favorite city/location on the island) and the specific location right on the water. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the view from the livingroom, kitchen and lanai was out of this world. Everything was as described or better - and the sunsets were truly incredible. We hope to visit again sometime - thanks for a great time Marcie and Ted!
