We’ve stayed at several different condos at Poipu Sands. We like the location. This property has been partially remodeled. Bathrooms could use some TLC.

Very comfortable place! Great bed! Loved the pool and how close it is to shipwreck beach!

Great place fot vacation

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay. We could hear the ocean surf which was a nice and an unexpected plus. The bed was comfy and the place was plenty spacious for 2.

Though we didn't love the South shore, our place was in a nice location and there was ease with checking in. The mattress pad on the bed is a thick piece of foam that looks like it has been on the bed for hundreds of guests and it made me feel uneasy about the cleanliness of the place. It just felt like a very "lived in" place. But again, the size of the place, the kitchen, and the location was fabulous!

We loved our stay. Took walks on the gorgeous grounds every day. Close to the beach and the pool. The place is spacious and comfortable. Would definitely come back!

Visited Poipu for a wedding next door at the Hyatt, the proximity of this unit could not have been better! Everything we needed was provided, very clean and well maintained! My husband and I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone else visiting Poipu.

Wonderful stay with everything we needed from keurig machine, great knives and lovely coffee cups, beach chairs, snorkel gear, tennis raquets and balls, etc.! Comfy bed and excellent layout with 2 bathrooms. Loved literally walking out of patio and seeing ocean and walking to beach in 3 minutes ( ground floor unit benefit) or to well kept perfect temperature pool. unbeatable location - will Defo come back!

Unit was very clean but also very warm. Nice walking paths. Pool was not heated and very cold.

Beautiful condo very well equipped with all the beach gear and kitchen supplies you need or want. Extremely comfortable bed which afforded some of the best sleep we\'ve had. Great shared BBQ\'s in a very nice and friendly condo complex. The location is amazing and just a short walk to a beautiful sandy beach (Shipwreck) in front of the Grand Hyatt. There is also a nice walking trail to the main Poipu beach where there is snorkeling and other amenities including a life guard. Mid-late afternoons were spent in our beach chairs on the lawn area overlooking the ocean where we enjoyed the views and flew kites before dinner. Occasional after dinner coffee and dessert was enjoyed at the Grand Hyatt. We are already looking forward to coming back to this condo.

Can\'t thank Greg and Shelley enough about this excellent condo unit. It was easy to rent this awesome vacation rental and Shelley provided great tips about the area before the vacation rental date. The location in Poipu Beach is outstanding near restaurants, shopping, beaches, grocery stores and far away enough from the crowds. The cute 1/1 bath sleeps at least 4 and has all the amenities you need including full kitchen and the convenience of an in unit washer/dryer. Search no more for a vacation rental and rent this affordable condo unit in a great location.

Shelley and Greg were the most gracious hosts! Very helpful, supportive and easy to communicate with. Their place in Poipu Sands was exactly what I needed - waking distance to the Hyatt, beautiful Poipu Beach and the stunning Heritage Trail. Centrally located to delicious food trucks, unique breakfast spots and farmers markets. Parking is easily accessible, the stay is clean and comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen with complimentary local coffee/snacks/drinks for when you arrive. After a long day of hiking the bed is beyond comfortable and the tub is ideal for a warm soak at the end of the day. I\'d highly recommend Shelley and Greg\'s stay - a real gem in South Kauai which surely made me feel at home.

The condo is as advertised and accurately reflects the pictures. It is quiet and located close to the water.

The condo property connects to a public path along the ocean that takes you along into the Grand Hyatt property and a public beach. These public paths provide beautiful and exotic walks during the day and evening along the ocean in both directions with wonderful views.

Shipwreck beach is a 5 minute walk along the ocean from the condo and Poipu Beach is a pleasant 12 minute walk from the condo or 3 minute car ride the other direction.

The owners were great communicators and checked in to make sure everything was as expected.

The condo was equipped well for cooking and dining in. The condo was also well equipped with beach chairs, sun umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkel mask and fins and beach towels.

Very pleasant stay in a very quiet, nicely located condo close to the ocean.

It your a walker and enjoy scenic beauty....piece and quite...and a comfortable home away from home..They stay in this clean and cozy 1 bedroom at Poipu Sands...what a great location

In general the condo met all our needs except for the living room furniture was uncomfortable, not enough bath towels and you have to let the hot water tap run for a long time before you get any hot water (we consider this a waste of water).

A very comfortable and homey condo. While not exactly ocean view, it is the next best thing--and you CAN see the ocean from the lanai, just not quite as well as the picture shows which must have been taken from the 2nd story condo just above.

The highlight for me was the access to the wonderful walking paths that take you either direction along the beach and lava rock part of the coastline between Shipwreck Beach and Point Poipu. Step out the "back door" and cross the lawn and there you are. I wish I could show you pics I took on these walks. Stunning! Strolling the extravagant grounds of the Hyatt was fun, too.

The condo is bigger than we expected and extemely well laid out and attractively decorated. The bed is very very comfortable (and I'm picky) and the kitchen equipment is top notch unlike in some condos. I wished there were more condiments available, but there was oil and vinegar and salt and pepper and lots of coffee and a couple of other items.

The location is wonderful. It's so close to everything, and yet far enough from any hecticicity (I just made up that word). A very quiet and peaceful setting that feels very safe. You can hear the ocean from the lanai and inside when the sliders and jalousies are open... which they were almost all the time. The breeziness of the condo was wonderful.

We didn't want to leave and I plan to book again for next year.

My husband and I spent five nights and it was wonderful. Very close to the ocean so we could hear the surf when we were sitting on the lanai. The unit is well stocked with lots of extras. We made good use of the cooler, snorkel set and the in suite laundry. There was also tennis equipment. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. The condo is clean, well equipped and close to the beach.

Great location and walking distance to beach, Greg and Shelly are good hosts and respond quickly if you have any questions or special needs.

We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay at Greg & Shelley’s wonderful condo anymore than we did. The unit was incredibly clean, well stocked, organized and with an unbeatable location. We loved walking the path to Shipwreck’s beach, listening to the ocean from the lanai and strolling the beautiful grounds at the Grand Hyatt. Would definitely come back and stay here again! Overall, a fabulously located and well appointed condo with all the amenities we could’ve asked for. Looking forward to returning!

Shelly and Greg\'s condo is a great place to stay. It was beautiful and well kept, had a fully stocked kitchen and even a beach gear closet. My favorite was the large peaceful pool! Behind the unit is a lovely walking path that takes you to the Hyatt grounds and also along the coast. The pathway is filled with God\'s bountiful artwork, lots of greenery with plumeria trees and other flowering plants!!!! I would definitely not hesitate to rent again!

This being my second stay... it's safe to say I'll likely come again. The only thing I needed to ad was a beach blanket. Easy. All the essentials of home and I was comfortable. I visited alone both visits and felt very safe. I love this place.

The property was perfect with everything we needed for a home away from home. The kitchen is fully stocked and the place was extremely clean. Thank you for everything! Wish we were longer 🙂

This condo had everything we needed and more, walked out the door to the beach, listened to the ocean from the bedroom, would return here for sure.

We have been to Kauai a few times, and found this property, Poipu Sands, this condo, #418, our favorite place to be. On the first floor, we could walk from the patio to the pool or to Ship Wreck Beach in a couple minutes. The Tide Pools restaurant, at the Hyatt, next door, is a few minutes walk. Poipu Beach was a 22 minute walk for me, which I did several times. We had everything we wanted.

My husband and I spent a week in this great condo at Poipu. The location is perfect with access to bars/restaurants at the Grand Hyatt and pool/tennis courts on the property. The view from the lanai is lovely and it’s just a short walk or drive to nice beaches for snorkeling, swimming and even spotting turtles and seals on the shore. The condo is well stocked with dishes, small appliances, kitchen tools, washer and dryer, as well as a cooler, beach chairs, towels, etc. Greg and Shelley were very responsive to questions before and during our stay and provided great information in advance of our arrival. We would definitely stay at this property again!

We last minute came to PoiPu from the north shore. The owners were amazing with immediate response throughout our stay. The condo is in a prime location, clean and spacious. There are beach chairs and a cooler in the closet you can use too.. we were able to grab a drink at the neighboring Hyatt and soak up some sun on the beach.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo. Close to the beach and great walking trails.

Wonderful property so close to the water! Shelley and Greg were very kind, considerate and responsive to our scheduling needs. Immediately adjacent to the Hyatt where we attending an educational conference which is in Kauai every three years. Couldn\'t ask for anything better. Beautiful apartment and a perfect location to explore Southern and Western Kauai. Walkable to the beach and fantastic sunsets from the nearby Maha\'ulepu Trail. Hosts were wonderfully communicative.

We had a memorable 7 days in this very clean, quiet,and comfortable condo. It is just a hop, skip, and jump to Shipwreck Beach and to the Hyatt where you can shop, eat, and find entertainment. From inside the condo you can see the ocean and hear the waves crashing against the lava rocks. The owner was so quick to respond to our questions. The bed and linens were so comfortable that we slept very well. From the condo we could walk to our favorite fruit stand. We like to cook our own meals and the kitchen was well furnished. This is a condo that we would return to in the future. The sunrises are gorgeous from the lanai!

This condo was great for us. The location is perfect. We love the Poipu beach area, and if you do too, this is a great place to stay.

Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need..even some spices, salt. pepper etc.

Lovely dishes, coffee cups, glasses, silverware and cooking pans, etc. Beautiful washer and dryer ( looks brand new) also laundry detergent and Clorox 2. ( no fabric softener, bring sheets of fabric softener if you need too) Couldn't ask for more.

Our bed was great, for us very comfortable. Bathroom was very nice and very clean.

The whole condo was very clean. It did get a little warm, but there are fans, plug them in and it is perfectly cool. ( only a little warm if you have closed up everything and gone for the day. Plug in the fan when you come in, open the slider and it will be cool shortly)

We used the pool often and it was very nice. We had it to ourselves on several days.

The pool and grounds are immaculately kept. The landscaping is wonderful.

Walk to Grand Hyatt, swim at Shipwreck beach.

We stayed at a very nice hotel right on the beach 2 nights before we came to the Condo. As we left I said in my mind, maybe we should have stayed here at the Hotel.

Same price per night, on the beach , all the amenities. But when we came into the Condo, I said "oh yes, this is perfect" You feel right at home, can cook if you want or eat out. You don't get charged a $25.00 resort fee, as they do in a hotel. I was so happy we decided on this condo. Perfect size for us, fantastic location, great owners to work with. The parking is perfect, right in front so it is easy to carry your luggage in, or groceries. ( first floor) Overall we had a great stay and wonderful time. It was nice to come home to your own little sanctuary.

I really have no negative comment...maybe only one. In time the sofa bed is going to need to be replaced.. I am sure owners are aware. This is just a great place to stay if you want a Condo vs. a hotel. We had a wonderful vacation, staying at this Condo is a large part of that. Thank you to the Owners. We appreciate the thought you put into it for your guests.

First of all, the owners responded to any questioned I had quickly. The unit was as described and located in a great location. We were within a few minute walk to a beach next door and within a 10 minute walk to another beach with a park. A cool breeze blew through every night and the sound of the ocean made sleeping so much easier. We have stayed on the North side prior to this and found this much better as there are more choices as far as shopping and eateries.

The unit is tastefully furnished, conveniently located, and worked perfectly for our 3 nights in Poipu. There are no fabulous views, but, being a ground floor unit, you do not have to deal with stairs and can step out on the grass from the lanai. Very easy walk to the Hyatt beach. Like many if not most condos/homes in this area, there is no A/C, but instead are ample cross breezes to keep one\'s cool. I could see coming back!

My husband and I spent ten wonderful nights in Greg and Shelley\'s beautiful condo. It was very spacious and meticulously maintained. The king bed was very comfortable and the condo was one of the best appointed ones that we have ever stayed in. The kitchen in particular was so well stocked it made eating meals in so convenient. The ceiling fans and cross ventilation kept the unit comfortable. The view is wonderful, and just steps to the most glorious sunrises! You can enjoy those from the lanai,however, we preferred to walk the few steps to the ocean\'s edge! The pool area was enjoyable and the grilling area was close. You can walk in either direction and enjoy the oceanfront sights. Close proximity to Shipwreck beach and the gorgeous Hyatt grounds were an added bonus. The condo is located in a great part of Poipu,very quiet but just a short drive to restaurants and shopping. Communication with Greg and Shelley was exceptional and easy. You will truly enjoy this piece of paradise!.

Beautiful locatiom; walking distance to beach

My husband and I spent 3days in Poipu. The condo was well equipped, clean and comfortable. We would definitely steely stay here again!

This was a nicely remodeled and well appointed unit with close proximity to the beach. The major problem was the lack of airconditioning. We read in posting that the trade winds keep the unit comfortable. However during our 5 days there the winds were not so strong and the temps were high. Also the ground floor unit has security issues that preclude keeping windows open at night or when you leave the unit. Also you choose between open windows for air vs. privacy. We constantly used the ceiling fans and the two floor fans but many times it was not enough.

Kauai is by far my favorite Hawaiian island. The weather was perfect while we were there and the area that the condo is located is exactly what we wanted! The condo was well furnished and within an easy walking distance to the beautiful beach! The only thing that would be good is a small air conditioner in the bedroom for the nights when the breeze is too mild. During the day and evening is fine! We went to a luau nearby, kayaking and even took a helicopter ride over the island. (Our first time we ever were in a helicopter!). Highly recommend their condo!

We chose this property based on the location. It’s super close to the ocean and walking distance from Hyatt (Tidepools). Very quite. Lots of accessories to make it a very comfy stay for close to two weeks.

This condo had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Walking distance to the Hyatt and restaurants (and the luau!!) and a short drive to the quaint old town Koloa. The drive from this condo is convenient to anywhere on the island. The condo itself is beautifully decorated and has all the kitchen gear needed for any stay at home meals. The grounds are impeccably maintained and perfect for long walks. I hope to revisit this lovely property!

We felt the online pictures were misleading. The view from the sofa is the parking lot of the neighboring condos. The unit is dated and contains somewhat shabby furniture and carpeting. The kitchen update is very nice. The owner was very nice, pleasant and very helpful.

The owners answered all of our questions quickly and accommodated is when we had a late evening flight off the island.

The condo was very clean, with an updated kitchen. All we needed was to buy our food for the week. Everything we needed to go to the beach or pool was available.

Two bbq’s on the property allowed us to cook dinner when we didn’t feel like venturing out and meet other vacationers while cooking.

If cooking isn’t your thing, there is as an ample array of restaurants in the area to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The adult bar within walking distance at the Hyatt next door makes great drinks.

The condo was conveniently located for all our adventures on the island. Comfy bed, clean and spacious.

Wonderful location, so close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Unit was very well stocked. Beach chairs, beach umbrella. Would recommend highly.

We enjoyed our stay here. The view of sunrise and sunsets were amazing, and the smashing waves to put you to sleep. The sun shines here all the time compared to the north.

Shelley was easy to get a hold and friendly. I would stay again here in the future.

My sister and I stayed here this December. Great location. The condo is clean and comfy and very quiet. Just step out your back door and greet the ocean.

Loved the little town of Koloa

We stayed here and really enjoyed it. It is handy to be on the ground floor as it makes it easy to walk out on the lawn whenever you want. The unit was spotless and the finishings were updated. We never felt we needed air conditioning as the breezes kept everything cool. The owners were very responsive to all inquiries.

Had a wonderful time. The condo was well maintained, equiped with everything we could possibly need. Very comfortable bed. Close to beach with lots of opportunities for walks in a beautiful setting.

The unit was clean when I arrived, and is exactly as the description on VRBO stated. There is no central AC, but with fans and windows, it was manageable.

We loved this property! It had everything we needed (including beach gear, kitchen supplies, extra linens, washer/dryer) and it was well kept and very clean. Poipu Sands is a very quiet complex and also well kept. Even though we went during summer and it was hot outside the condo stayed cool and the ceiling fans and trade winds kept it at a comfortable temperature. The owners were very easy to talk to and were quick to respond to any questions we had. We would definitely return to this condo in the future. We were sad to leave as it felt like home after our 10 day stay.

This unit was so clean and well stocked with all the items needed for a fun vacation. It was roomy and convenient for a wonderful week in paradise.

This one bedroom condo is wonderful. It is equipped with everything you will need for your trip.Before going to the grocery store check in the kitchen for coffee filters etc. The location is perfect, near great beaches and restaurants.The parking is right out front so no lugging your luggage up flights of stairs. I enjoyed going to the pool after long days of snorkeling and being the only one there. it felt like my own private pool!!!! We never used the outdoor grill since we ate out for dinner every night, but it\'s there if you are so inclined to use it. We had breakfast every morning on the lanai, to the sound and view of the ocean. I would defiantly rent this condo again.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this unit. The location is amazing. The beach and walking trails are basically right outside the unit. The unit itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The owners were also very pleasant and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice ground floor one bedroom. Easy walkout to ocean which is close by. Next door to Grand Hyatt which has gorgeous grounds. Nice little walking trail along ocean to west of unit.Nicely appointed kitchen. King bed very comfortable. Nice linens. Updated unit except living room furniture is dated and uncomfortable. TV quite small and no TV in bedroom. No A/C but fans and trade winds keep unit comfortable.

This was our second great stay at Shelley and Greg’s unit 418 Poipu Sands. This time we spent more time right at their condo enjoying the tennis court, the pool and gas barbeque grills. We played tennis nearly every day on an excellent court. The private swimming pool is beautiful, clean, nice chaise lounges and no crowds. Shipwreck Beach, front of the Hyatt is a few hundred feet away so we went there as well. The restaurants and bars at the Hyatt are open to the public so we enjoyed several lunches there. The hotel pool is for their guests only. We also walked to the Hyatt for Starbucks coffee most mornings.

One day we hiked from Shipwreck beach east to Mahaulepu Beach, then beyond to Haula beach and back. We also snorkeled at Poipu beach, about a fifteen minute walk from the condo. We drove to the north shore twice and enjoyed several beaches, lunch at Kilauea and Hanalei. As always, we drove up Wiamea Canyon road to the Kalalau overlook for great views. Took a catamaran sunset dinner cruise along the Napali coast. In our eight trips to Kauai we had never done that and saw from the ocean the places we camped on our four Kalalau trail backpacking trips spread over the last thirty years.

The condo itself is terrific: Clean, well equipped in every way, nicely decorated and serves as a great base for not only Poipu, but the entire island. Their business practices are very professional, ranging from email reminders, information instructions, tip sheets, keys, timely deposit return and follow-ups. We have stayed at a variety of hotels and resorts on Kauai and Shelley and Greg’s place is our favorite.

This was our first visit to Kauai and absolutely loved the island and the Poipu area. We did a lot of touring and driving around and were always happy to come back to our own little piece of heaven. The complex was quiet and the condo had everything we needed. Beach chairs, towels and coolers were really handy to have. It is a very short walk to the beach and if you are wanting a view of the ocean, walk no further than your lanai. The crashing waves were a welcome sound which can also be heard from the lanai. Shelley was very accommodating and responded quickly to enquiries.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Poipu Sands. It\'s nice ground-floor unit and is very well stocked with everything you need for a great island vacation. Not fancy, but clean and served as a great base for our adventures across the island.

Poipu sand is one of the best locations in Poipu. condo is very clean, but door is hard to lock and unlock. Make us nervous about not able to open the door. Bed is a bit uncomfortable. Everything else is terrific.

We spent 1 week of our 3 week Hawaii vacation at this condo, We found it to be very clean and well equipped, including beach chairs and umbrellas. It was nice that everything in the condo was labeled and instructions, if needed, were provided. The location was great-steps away from the Hyatt Regency and Shipwreck beach. It was very convenient for exploring the south shore of Kauai including spectacular Wiamea Canyon. We loved walking the paths near the condo and spotted many turtles, whales and monk seals. We enjoyed eating out at nearby restaurants including Beach House and Keoki\"s. We advise shopping for groceries in Lihue as the stores in Poipu and Koloa are expensive and have very limited selections.

Everything about this "temporary home" was wonderful! It was clean, the bed was comfortable, kitchen was well-equipped. Loved the chaise lounges and table/chairs on the patio: great view of the ocean while we enjoyed our coffee in the morning. Extras (i.e., grill, beach chairs, beach towels) were a nice touch. Easy walk to the beach or pool. Good location in Poipu: good area for a morning walk and close (driving) to a variety of restaurants and the famous Poipu Beach Park. My husband and I stay in VRBO's frequently and this is one of the nicest; would definitely stay here again upon a return!

What a great roomie condo, with a beautiful ocean view from the lanai. We had the pleasure of staying here for a week, and enjoyed the beautiful walking paths, seals, dolphins, turtles, and whales each morning. Shelly was very easy to communicate with and we had our refund from our deposit within days of returning home. This is truely and amazing property and the grounds are very well maintained . Nice pool and BBQ area as well and easy walking access to numerous beaches. We really liked shipwreck and poupi beach. We had booked again for next year. You won\'t be disappointed

We found the condo clean, comfortable, well equipped for a wonderful vacation. Area is ideal for walking, hiking, beach activities. The complex has a pool and barbecue to add to the amenities. We definitely recommend this condo to anyone who is seeking a quiet week of warm weather, fun, and relaxation. We took advantage of the owner\'s recommendations for activities and restaurants and found them good as they say.

We really enjoyed our stay. The walking paths along the condo\'s and beaches combined with beautiful grounds was something we will never forget. The condo was very nice and had plenty of utensils, and was even equipped with some extra beach belongings such as chairs, water shoes, umbrella etc... We would definately like to come back.

Everything went as smooth as could be. Great location, right by Shipwrecks Beach, or just seconds from the pool. Two BBQ grills seconds away as well. All was clean and well maintained in the condo, and stocked w/beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards. Nothing sensational about the unit, but we didn\'t go to Kauai to spend a lot of time inside. The lanai only has a peak-a-boo view of the ocean (more of the next complex\'s parking lot), and the TV isn\'t much. About half the units were empty, giving us peace and quiet, and the pool and gas grills mostly to ourselves.

We had a wonderful time in Kauai and really enjoyed the condo. The location is wonderful especially if you need access to the Hyatt. I loved the kitchen and the washer and dryer - we did a lot of hiking and the mud was intense so the close proximity to the car wash hose was great for cleaning off our gear. The grill is very close by for BBQ\'s and the grounds are beautifully kept. You can\'t go wrong with renting Greg and Shelley\'s condo.

Overall the condo was pretty comfortable. The pullout bed in the living room was a bit shabby and our daughter slept on the couch. The new dishwasher didn\'t work for us even after (a repair man came and fixed it). We also were overrun in the kitchen with lots of little ants if we left anything out that had sugar in it. I think the ocean view is partial.

The bedroom was great as well as the bathrooms. Our bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were also fine. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in. The sheets and towels were great. The condo was very quiet and was in a good location.

We had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful condo for a week in July 2016. It exceeded our expectations on every level! The location is perfect, and very accessible to all the fun points of interest in Poipu. We loved the open breezy feel of the condo, with the wonderful relaxing lanai where we ate many meals and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the ocean. Just LOVELY! It was a short walk over to the Hyatt, which is a beautiful property to stroll (and a great place to listen is live music, have a cocktail or sit for a wonderful dinner-out). We also really enjoyed having a full modern kitchen in the condo (completely stocked with everything we could possibly need) and 2 spacious new bathrooms. Everything was so well organized and clean. The washer/dryer came in handy and we appreciated the drawer full of random necessities. Every need was met! We LOVED using the beach chairs when we went to Poipu Beach, and the cooler came in handy too! Thank you to Shelley and Greg for offering such a cozy, special place for us to stay. It was perfect and the best vacation we could imagine! We can\'t wait to book again!

First, we are just turning 70 and have used VRBO for at least 20 years, everywhere we go. New York City, La Jolla, Outer Banks, Olympic Peninsula and so many places in between. Hawaii, last year too. We’ve probably stayed in 20+ places. There are always issues. We are pretty picky, expect what is sold to us.

This time to Hawaii, Kauai was our first stop, Maui followed. Greg and Shelley’s place is above every one we have ever stayed. Walk onto a tile front foyer and turn right to the living room which is more than ample with an L shaped dining room. The living room leads to the lanai with a table and four chairs plus two chaises and a table. We’d drag the chaises a few feet to soak up some sun when we chose to stay around. We’d also carry a few beach chairs about a short wedge to a grassy area down by the water to just sit peacefully with a cooler between us, watching the waves. There were several coolers, beach stuff, even a few rain slickers (rain slickers?) we grabbed for our Denali coast dinner cruise when we forgot ours from home. Want a/c? Not here with the breeze. Some nights we had to turn off the fans. The comfortable king bed, plenty of dresser and closet space and the master bath with dual sinks and a dressing counter with stool was great. But wait there’s more. Another half bath. Perfect for when I got up early for my walk and leave Jane sleeping a bit more. There’s a washer/dryer too.

The kitchen was the best, separated from the dining room by a bar stool counter. You know how you look for something you need, there isn’t and you have to improvise with another utensil? Uh… not here. This kitchen has almost everything Jane has at home down. I said almost everything because nobody has more than Jane in her kitchen. We have a backup coffee maker and so does this place. Last year in Kona, our coffee maker went on the fritz and it took two days to get a replacement.

Fifty yards cross the center lawn is a BBQ area we used several times then would move on to the pool which often was unoccupied just for us.

The property is adjacent to the Grand Hyatt Kauai, one of the crown jewels of Hyatt, where we strolled along paths passed pools and beach front to Shipwreck Beach. The Hyatt is massive and gracious in itself but we’d rather stay at our place with all our space than a single room for three times as much.

Kauai is our top Hawaiian island for relaxing and this our top rental ever, and we hope Greg and Shelly’s will be open as we shall return.

We really enjoyed our one week stay at your condo. The condo was clean and well maintained and meet our expectations perfectly. Access to the beach is great and the entire Poipu Sands area is a premium location.

We had a lovely week long stay in this condo. It was close to the ocean and we loved hearing the ocean waves as we drifted off to sleep each night in an extremely comfortable bed It had everything we needed and we really appreciated having the convenience of the washer and dryer. We enjoyed our stay in Poipu Sands. We had sunny weather when other parts of the island all had rain. It was very hot when we arrived and tradewinds were minimal, so condo was quite warm the first few nights! It was a beautiful walk along the path and to the beach, and the long coastline trail that continues to a remote beach. Condo was well stocked with everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. We appreciate the use of the beach towels, beach chairs, and cooler. Thank you for sharing. We truly enjoed our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at this condo. It has a great location near the ocean and is well stocked with high quality beach gear (towels, umbrellas, chairs). The shared bbq grills were brand new and steps away from the condo. We would highly recommend potential travelers to consider staying here.

Great location near the beach. You can hear the waves crash on the beach. We sat on the lani every evening and listen to the sea. What an enchanting place to stay. The grounds were well maintained and adjacent to the Grand Hyatt giving us the beautiful neighbor. Walk to the beach, to the fruit stand, to the store and many retaurants. Just short jaunt to shopping and other activities. The condo was well maintained and clean. Bed was comfortable, bath spacious, kitchen well stock with cooking utensils, and the WiFi free. Could not think of any other place to stay on the island. We will be back!

The Bay's condo at Poipu Sands exceeded all our expectations. The unit is beautiful and very well appointed. The ocean view from just off the deck is also wonderful. The location of the complex is also a plus. We would definitely recommend this condo.

There are so many positives that come with this condo! We stayed for 8 days so having a home away from home made our stay so much more comfortable than staying at a hotel. The condo has all your beach necessities including beach chairs, a beach umbrella and even a cooler so our beach days were perfect. The first unexpected bonus we didn't think about prior to arriving was the condo being on the ground floor so we could walk out onto the lanai and directly out onto the grass and walking paths. The second and third floor condos do not have this luxury. The second unexpected bonus was the condo has a screened front door! There weren\'t too many condos with screened front doors and the wonderful breeze with the door open was amazing and much needed. My family stayed in a condo at Poipu Sands a couple doors down from us and they were miserable because their condo didn\'t have a screened front door. The simple things you just don\'t think about!

Both bathrooms and kitchen have been upgraded with tile floors and granite counter tops. It was also very nice to have wifi in the condo and an ice maker in the freezer! Nothing like surfing the web with a nice cocktail out on the lanai after a wonderful day exploring this beautiful island!

Lastly, Shelley and Greg are so easy and wonderful to work with. Thank you for making our trip to Kauai that much better!

My wife and I spent 3 wonderful weeks in Greg and Shelley's condo at Poipu Sands. Coming from a cold climate in the winter, the warmer temps are a given of course. The next most important things are LOCATION and the QUALITY OF THE ACCOMODATIONS. This condo was a "home run" on both accounts. Great location and property, right near the ocean and being next to The Grand Hyatt property is a plus - for walking paths, restaurants and of course Starbuck's in the morning!! Lots of great beaches and restaurants within walking distance or a very short drive. And there are two golf courses close by which was a plus for us. The condo is very, very well appointed with recent upgrades to the kitchen and bathrooms. Absolutely everything we needed or wanted was in the condo. Another great thing, that we felt, was that this condo is on the ground floor and having access off the lanai to the grounds and beach was something that we never thought would be so handy - but it truly was (versus using stairs and the back entrance on upper levels). Oh yes, and the pool is a terrific place to hang out as well in case it gets a bit too windy to stay on the beach. Everything to do with this property/facility is very well kept up (the grounds, buildings, pool) and it shows. We would definitely come back. Thanks again Greg and Shelley.

Greg and Shelley\'s condo is terrific for a stay on Kauai\'s South Shore. It\'s a very spacious unit, and the kitchen remodel is lovely. The lanai is huge, and we loved being on the ground floor and being able to walk across the lawn and down to the beach. The condo is extremely tidy, with high-quality linens (bedding and bath towels) which you don\'t always get in Hawaii vacation rentals. Loved falling asleep to the sounds of the waves on the shore. Also, the owners were very easy to work with, quick and responsive.

We traveled to the beautiful island of Kauai to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We had a great time staying at this condo. It's true what is often said....location, location, location! The condo is located right next to the Grand Hyatt Resort and the grounds of the condo are landscaped nicely. The condo, itself, is located within steps of the beach and is nicely furnished and made us feel at home. The bed is king-sized and very comfortable and the condo is furnished with all the comforts of home.

We chose this condo strictly on photos and descriptions provided, and we were not disappointed. We were totally impressed with the condo itself, how well it was decorated, how well stocked the kitchen was, and how many extras were available for enjoyment for the week. We definitely could have packed a little lighter with all that was available. It was convenient to the beach with an awesome view and convenient to all the restaurants that we visited during our stay. We also got married on the beach just below the condo, and it was an absoultely perfect spot. We plan on coming back for our 5-year anniversary and will make this our first choice for accommodations then. Thank you Greg and Shelley for your hospitality!!

The condo is in a great location if you would like to enjoy the sunny side of the island. Close to a lot of resturants and beaches. It is just a few minute walk to shipwreack beach and the Grand Hyaitt. The condo is clean and spacious. The washer and dryer as well as the half bath made this condo extra convienent. We also appreciated the beach chairs and all the information about the local resturants and activiies. We would definitely vacation there again!

This was the perfect spot for us! The condo is ideally located in the Poipu area in Kauai. Close to everything you could need on a low-key vacation. The condo is fully equipped with everything you would want at home or on vacation and was perfect for our week in paradise. The complex itself is quiet and for being so close to the beach and a resort (such as the Hyatt) you would think it would be louder and busier but on the contrary... it was just perfect.

A nice cozy condo with a ocean-view patio perfect for outdoor meals. A short walk to Shipwreck Beach and a wonderful walk along the cliffs. The grounds are beautiful and superbly maintained. A large beautiful pool, which we found to be the warmest in the Poipu Kai Resort area. 2 gas barbeque grilles nearby, which are cleaned daily by staff. Adequately equipped with cookware, dishes and comfortable furniture. You\'ll enjoy the sound of the ocean.

The Condo was very clean, and as described or shown in the photos. The Owners were very helpful,

and prior to our trip sent us a lot of information about the Condo, and the area, and attractions. Also,

they have a binder full of information of things to do, and paces to eat. The area is beautiful, and the

ocean very close with lots of walking paths, and at some points , places to sit.

The Owners sent maps of how to get to the Condo from Lihue Airport, and a very helpful map of the

Poipu, and Koloa area. Wewould definitely recommend it to our friends, and relatives.

We chose to stay in Poipu since it is rainy season, and the south side of the island gets a lot of sun even now. We are so glad we found this listing. It was very comfortable and convenient. We didn\'t spend much time hanging out at the condo, since we were only there a week and our main activities were hiking and exploring.

If you like a soft mattress, this is the place for you! My husband prefers a very firm mattress for his back, but we did find this quite comfy. The condo is well stocked for fun, with several beach chairs, mats, coolers and even tennis racquets and balls. Extra sunscreen, too. The washer and dryer are the nicest I've seen in a rental. We only prepared breakfast in the condo; if you plan to cook more extensively, I'd take along some seasonings as we only found salt and pepper in the cupboards.

After hiking the trails of Waimea, we planned to use the hot tub; the fact that it wasn't right at our pool hadn't registered, and we didn't have the energy to go find it. I should have scoped all that out before an 11 mile hike.

The location is perfect. We walked all over Poipu as the pathways are right outside the door. And being on the first floor was great. We would definitely stay there again!

Three adults stayed in your condo for Christmas, with the extra half bath it was perfect. The accommodations couldn't have been better and the location, near the beach and The Grand Hyatt, was tops. We have stayed other places on the island and this is our favorite. Thank you for opening your condo for others to enjoy, it has personal touches which made us feel at home.

What a wonderful week we had in this condo at Poipu Sands. It is so central to the entire island. It was so convenient to all tourist spots on the island. The condo itself was fully equipped with everything you need to make it your own home. Great bedroom and master bath, powder room and a washer and dryer. The kitchen was fully equipped, everything you need to prepare to eat on the lanai for cocktails, dinner and breakfast. The markets were not far, with fresh fruit, meats and fish. They even have bbq's just seconds from the lanai for your use. You can see the ocean as well as enjoy it with the provided beach chairs, mats and items necessary to have a great day at the beach. Snorkeling is so close, sea turtles are just a minutes walk from the condo. The view is spectacular and it is so quiet, you think you are the only ones in this paradise. It was so clean when we arrived and the owners are just an email away to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to the opportunity to vacation here again. This unit will be first on our list to call.

We stayed at this condo for several nights in October 2012. The grounds are gorgeous and very well kept, and as depicted in the listing, the condo opens onto a large greenbelt. What the condo does not mention is that on the other side of the greenbelt is a large parking lot. It was difficult to enjoy the lanai at night because the headlights of the cars entering and parking would act as a spotlight on the lanai, therby destroying any privacy you might want. Since the condo does not have a/c, it did get very warm in the evening, even with the shades and blinds drawn. The ceiling fan just didn\'t cut it nor did the tradewinds. Fortunately the bedroom stayed mostly cool so we were able to enjoy the incredibly comfy bed!

The condo was quiet, nicely furnished and very clean. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook an eleaborate meal - or just make a smoothie and coffee. The assortment of books and CD's was a nice touch and we both read a coiuple of books during our stay. There were plenty of beach toys, albeit the chairs were a little worn, but they still work just fine. I think my husband would've preferred a larger TV with HDTV, but I say tough luck - we're in Hawaii and you can watch TV anytime!

We mostly went to the beach, but hit up one of the condo pools a couple of times. It was beautiful, and sparkling clean, with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. We never used any of the BBQ's, but saw several other folks doing so each evening. The condo was very close to the Hyatt and we walked over there a few times to enjoy the beautiful gardens. We weren't lucky enough to see any turtles on Shipwreck Beach, but we saw plenty of them at Brennecke's.

I think the one aspect of the condo that really borthered us, and we are very experienced VRBO-renters, were the signs all over the condo reminding you to wipe your feet, don't lose the keys, don't use too many towels, wipe out the washer and dryer after you use them (what???), don't track in sand, turn the fan off when you leave, turn the lights off when you leave, don't do this, don't do that. The list went on and on. A real turn-off.

I would suggest to the owners that you if you are that picky about renting your place, then either charge a much larger cleaning deposit or don't rent it at all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in your very comfortable and fully equipped condo - the grounds and pool area were very well maintained and the pathways provided great access to the adjacent beach and nearby restaurants.

My wife and I had a great stay at Shelley and Greg\'s condo in Poipu. Every morning you walk right out to a grassy area looking over the Pacific. The beach and Hyatt is a short 2-3 minute walk. I highly recommend staying here. You won\'t be disappointed.

My husband and I really enjoyed out entire trip, and the condo was wonderful! The location is great-poipu is always sunny, and the proximity of this place to the surrounding beaches was wonderful. It has great views and felt very clean for a rental property. I appreciated the beach chairs/coolers etc that they left for us to use-very helpful. I also really appreciated the organization of the owners when it came to our rental agreement etc. They were prompt, available for questions, and detailed in their instructions. We also got our security deposit back quickly upon our return. I would recommend this condo to anyone and hope to stay there again next year!

Staying the 1st 10 days of May, 2012, we were ever very pleased with this condo and its central location on Kauai. We were at all the best places to see without a lot of drive time. We could go to the east side or the west side within 30 minutes. Close to the best beaches on the south side with many places to dine and shop. Very relaxing and quite environment. Exceptionally clean and well groomed grounds. Large pool was a short walk across the grass and was close by as was the beach. Accommodations were exactly as pictured. Wired internet access was great and Cable TV had many channels. We definitely will be rebooking this condo in the future.

We found this unit to be exactly as advertised. It really IS steps away from the beach and in an amazing location. The landlord was very courteous and responsive, even calling me back to tell me exactly what items were in the kitchen ahead of my stop in Lihui to buy provisions. There is also an ocean view from the living room area, which you can't see from the photos. We would highly recommend this unit and will absolutely return and rent it again.

We had a wonderful week at Poipu Sands. The Condo is just as described at the web site. We enjoyed 7 days of sunshine and temps in the 80s and got to see most all of the island attractions - which are most all nature and not bricks and mortar. From warm beaches, to double waterfalls, to deep canyons, to amazing seascapes, to a lighthouse, and wonderful eating - it could not be beat for a our first visit to the Hawaiian Islands! Don\'t worry about the weather - if there are showers to the East there is sunshine to the West! Our best meal was lunch at the Kilohana Plantation which has a very reasonably priced menu for the mid-day meal. Drive all over the Island and you will discover wonderful views and adventures to keep you busy for a week. The Luau at the Hyatt is excellent - we did that our last night! Aloha!

The renting of this unit goes smoothly, the owners handle things well.They keep you well informed and have thought of everything to make your stay as convenient and comfortable as home. As stressful as traveling can be this place really allows you to unwind. The location is ideal, with the road system everything is just minutes away, a fine beach and groceries etc.

You are just steps away from where you park your car from your ground floor front door. The grounds are very well maintained as well as the pool area. Wonderful view from your patio, along with being peaceful. My spouse was very relaxed and comfortable there. We have rented from vbro before.This unit is as nice as the photos show, no surprises, just a great getaway. Thanks to the Bays for sharing a little bit of heaven with us.

The condo was as described in the literature. It is very close to the ocean, you can constantly hear the magnificent surf. It is well maintained and very easy to contact the owners. It is right next to the Grand Hyatt property with all its amenities. The sea turtles have a buffet table set up in front of the condo. We saw up to nine turtles at once. You can have as little or as much activity as you want. Good walking, paved paths are convenient along the ocean.The location is absolutely great, near Poipu Point and Koloa, where you can get any supplies, meals, and beverages you want. Everything from Plantation Gardens restaurant to puka dogs or Bubba\'s burgers if you don\'t want to cook. The unit is very well furnished and supplied; buy your food and beverages and move in!

We will recommend it to friends and hope to visit again ourselves.

The condo was spotless when we arrived and had everything we needed for our two-week stay. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Great swimming pool! We highly recommend taking advantage of all of the walking paths leading to the beaches and nearby restaurants. Kalapaki Joe\'s and Dondero\'s restaurants were two of our favorites and both are a short walk from the condo. If a calm, quiet, relaxing vacation is what you\'re looking for, this is the place to go. Would love to stay here again. Shelly and Greg, the owners, were quick to respond to any questions we had prior to our arrival. We had a wonderful experience.

4/25 to 5/2 ~ We had a great time at this condo ~ It was central to everything that we needed for our initial week in Poipu. We were close to high end restaurants, bars, golf, gardens, hiking, snorkeling and beach walks. We found a private cove with a tree bench and watched the turtles every morning with our coffee.

Very comfortable condo, great pool setting especially in the evening under the stars. The owners are great and we appreciated their prompt interaction. Would consider this location again. Steve & Julia

This condo is a great place to stay! We had everything we needed, the condo was well kept and equipped and we especially appreciated the supplies for the beach - chairs, cooler, umbrellas and boogie boards! We loved the proximity to the beach and the walking trails, it made for some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed the entire area of Poipu and would recommend staying here if you enjoy the sun and the beach and the laid back feeling of Kauai. The owners were easy to deal with and we would definitely return here if we have the opportunity to return to Kauai.

It was spacious, immaculate, comfortable and very charming. We had everything we needed to make this our best vacation ever! The people in the community were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. We enjoyed walking the beach every morning to see the gorgious sunrise. We could have not asked for a better location! The beach was spectacular. We even saw one of the endangered monk seals resting. We loved the excellent running paths. We ran past the golf course each morning and marveled at the beautiful views we encountered. We definitely will be back! We were so fortunate to have found the best place to stay on Kauai!

We had a lovely time in Kauai. Condo was exactly as described. Poipu Sands is a beautiful complex with a great pool and BBQ area. We loved the close proximity to the ocean and the sound of the waves hitting the rocks at night. Condo was very well equipped and had everything that we needed.

We loved going for hikes early in the morning and spending the day at secluded beaches. Hiked to the cave where Raiders of the Lost Ark was filmed and also saw the cottage where The Thorn Birds was filmed.

Could watch the sun rise from our lanai early the morning and later in the day walk the path and see the beautiful sunsets. Spent lazy days just watching the surfers and cliff divers at the beach in front of the Hyatt Hotel.

Will definitely return.

We enjoyed our first Kauai visit very much -- thanks in part to a great location and comfortable condo. You made our first "condo rental" experience easy and stress-free and we're happy to recommend it to anyone looking to do the same.

We absolutely loved the condo and Kauai! Poipu Sands is a beautiful property in a perfect location. We loved the huge grassy lawn just steps from the patio and barbequed almost every night at one of the several gas grills available in the complex. The condo was equipped with everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking, everything was well-labeled, and the overall space in the condo was perfect for two people. We also really appreciated the beach chairs and cooler that were available for use. We hope to come back in the near future!

We only had 4 days to enjoy Kauai and we tried to make to most of it. We headed North for snorkeling but found the best place just minutes from our condo at Poipu Sand Public Beach. We ate at Brennecke's Beach Broiler and thought the food and drinks were great. I had the special (a wrap and my husband had the fish and chips which he's still talking about)! I especially loved the trade winds in the evening as we sat on the lani and had a glass of wine. We ate one night at the Tide Water restaurant at the Hyatt and it was wonderful. We simply walked over and didn't have to worry about having that extra glass of wine. The lani gave us a wonderful view of the sunset and yes you guessed it another glass of wine! We took a sunset cruise with Blue Dolphin but beware the sea can be rough and we returned before the sun actually set! Maybe another company would give you a better experience.

All in all we had a fantastic time and would love to return and stay at the Bay's condo. Thank you Shelley and Greg for having a wonderful place to rest and unwind! We loved it. And I really loved the large bathtub in the evenings! Mahalo many times over!!!

We have visited Kauai many times over the years, and sometimes stayed at the Grand Hyatt as we found the location to be ideal. This trip we decided for the first time to rent your Poipu Sands condo next door to the hotel. We found it to be more spacious, private, and very comfortable (especially the bed). Also, your condo is very well appointed. And we sure saved a lot of money in the process. We spent ten terrific days on the island, and look forward to returning next year. Mahalo. >Jay & Sue

We had a wonderful time at your condo. Everything was so thoughtfully arranged - right down to the labels on the switches - that we could settle right in. We’ve stayed in other places at Poipu Kai, but we’ve never before seen the sun rise over Makawehi Point right from our lanai. What a great location.

This is a great rental property with professional,

prompt, and super flexible ownership. The condo and

complex is precisely as described. The location you

literally cannot beat for the price anywhere we found

on Kauai. If available, my recommendation is stop

searching and book this one now.

This was our second trip to Poipu. The condo was just as described. It was also very quiet and soooo close to the ocean. Everything we needed or wanted was in the condo. We\'ll definitely return. It was the perfect place to stay in Poipu.

This is the first time that we have used VRBO. I was skeptical at first but found it to be a great way to rent a condo. The owner's posting is very accurate. This is our 3rd stay in Poipu and we found this location to be the best. We used the path that meanders through the complex to Poipu beach daily. Nice swimming pool. Loved the ocean sounds. Overall a very relaxing stay. May 7 - 22, 2009.

We felt completely at home during our stay, January 13-20, 2009. What a wonderfully comfortable place, warm, beautiful, and welcoming. We walked, swam; then we walked some more--especially in the evenings to glory in the sunsets. We were thrilled to see so many whales and turtles--and will invest in some much better quality binoculars for what we hope will be a return visit. Thank you very much.

Staying at your Condo was like reading a good book. At first we thought

(HEY, THIS IS A NICE PLACE)but, the more we unwound the more we realized how REALLY great your place is.

The bed is incredibly comfortable, the Condo\'s location is ideal with a warm and relaxed Island feel along with all the comforts of home. We already miss morning coffee on the Lanai and the sound of the ocean. We\'ve made several trips to Kauai, and POIPU SANDS is now our favorite place to stay. We\'ll be back....MAHALO.
